I had to have my very old furry roommate put down. The staff was so understanding and gentle, they made a difficult day just a little better.

I have been coming here for 3 years now and I'm going somewhere else, I'm very frustrated with this vet. They didn't tell me my nails went up 20$ and no notification. I told them I wasn't notified, and i thought they wouldn't give back my cat. There wasnt anything they said they can do. Sketchy practice not coming back.

Covid protocols are a bit of a pain. Can't accompany pet into clinic. Line up outside. Dr calls on phone after exam. Then you pick up pet. Running about 15 minutes late from appointment time, so cold wait. Can be long lineups. Street parking. Dr seemed competent on phone, but as 1st time client would have been nice to meet. No problem entering clinic and mingling to pay bill lol. Kool-aid drinkers?

Dr Dodd is not interested in making an effort to attend to your cat or dog. I have had the misfortune of having him treat both and it's pretty apparent he can't be bothered. The other vets seem better but I would only take dogs there. They don't seem to be cat people. For my puppy Dr Dodd couldn't wait to get off the phone ( covid policy means we get a call after treatment before we pick up). Somehow he/ the office entered my dogs information wrong so I ended up having to go back an extra time for shots because they couldn't be bothered to look at his info card. For my Sr cat it was worse! I get a call telling me that they couldn't do anything bc cat needs sedation so I have to make another appointment and go back. He obviously needed blood work ( I had explained his symptoms - weight loss and thirst- and temperament) but I paid for this visit where the Dr gave his expert opinion that the cat ' seems fine' but I don't know if he even got out of the carrier.

The Doc is very nice, the staff need to learn how to speak and interact with people. Almost every interaction I've had with them after the first one has been horrible. Extremely rude tones and unprofessional actions from previous tech. I asked for 1 or 2 meds due to me being a PhD student and I get it, in Canada you all don't sale 1 or 2 pills at a time, I guess that's an american luxury. I don't see what's wrong with setting aside a pack of 6 under my pups name and charging me every month when I pick the pill up. This place doesn't really care about keeping clientele or maybe it's just me they're not interested in helping. I see several comments over the years complaining about staff, at this point, I don't even trust my dog with the techs because if they're this bad of communicators, they could try to hurt my pup without me in there due to COVID restrictions. Perhaps you might have better luck with this office, but as for me, the way I have been treated by staff is absolutely horrifying.

Dismal looking place with bars all over...not very good impression. Covid protocols are an exaggeration. My little dog was supposedly be dragged in with a big cord lead, I was supposed to stay and wait outside for the doctor phone call. I could not get to see the doctor, talk to him and stay with my dog. No thanks. I will find a better clinic.

I really wish I could give more than 5 stars to Dr. Chen and assistants at KVH. I can’t even count how many times we have had our puppy in over the past 8 months and every experience with them has been wonderful. Our dog actually gets excited to go to the vet! We honestly do too, we learn so much from our calls with Dr. Chen. She takes the time to really listen to your observations before offering treatment options. She also asks for update emails to track progress. Her service standards are so above and beyond anyone else. The pricing is fair and you’re not automatically given the most expensive treatment plan, although it is presented as an option. I feel like Dr. Chen provides a lot of value added during her exams. It’s also nice to have a vet with a border collie since they are a β€œspecial” kind of breed :) If you can handle a phone call on speaker phone in your car, the covid policies are not inconvenient. We love KVH!
