Kelly Melanson has provided me with excellent service when completing my tax returns for 2017. Kelly addressed my request of having my return processed ASAP so as not to miss the return date for filing. Also provided me with the proper forms to use when completing my return for her company to process. I am pleased with the service I received and will have Kelly Melanson to complete my and my wife’s future returns. As well as being efficient Kelly and her staff are personable and pleasant.

I have two businesses (book keeping and GST/HST) and my personal finances to keep sorted, and Kelly quickly began working with me to clean up my "messes". Kelly Melanson has provided me with expert accounting services for approximately three years. Highly professional, yet warm in her approach, Kelly has effectively tackled my tax questions and returns. I feel "heard" when we discuss my issues and Kelly provides excellent client service by promptly returning my calls and emails, and offering practical suggestions. In addition, the Notices of Assessment I receive back from the CRA are spot-on with Kelly's work and her fees are much more reasonable than those I previously paid to an accounting firm in Toronto. We booked a one hour consultation with Kelly to help us understand how to use some of the more advanced features of Quickbooks. She was very helpful, professional and informative. We will definitely be booking another consultation again soon.

I was excited to speak with Kelly as I had recently incorporated and was looking for some advice on my next steps. I paid the $100 for my 30 minute call, figuring good advice was worth every penny. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience on my call with Kelly. I did not receive the Zoom link to join the meeting until I had emailed the admin rep. and I then received it 3 minutes after when my meeting was supposed to begin. Kelly was another few minutes late. While we all get held up in previous commitments, Kelly made no apologies about her tardiness. Had the late start been the only issue, certainly I could have looked past this. As we continued to discuss my business needs, it became apparent that I was in some way intruding on Kelly's day. She was quick to cut me off while we were speaking and provided me with boilerplate information (which basically amounted to use QuickBooks and pay her firm to file year end taxes). During this meeting, she was quite negative and told me what I should have done, but also told me it was too late to do anything now. She chuckled at me when I told her that I was considering completing my own corporate taxes in the future, and made sure to reiterate a few times that she would not be training me on how to do this (I never asked her to). I left my discussion with her (which she promptly cut off after 25 minutes, even though I had paid for 30 minutes) feeling defeated, more confused than when I had started, and lost. I have since contacted a larger Canada-wide firm who met with me for 35 minutes (at no cost), reassured me that all mistakes are able to be fixed, and offered me services that were specific to my business' needs. I was surprised that a larger company would have a more personal connection to their clients. I'm disappointed that things didn't work out with Kelly, because I wanted to support a woman in business that is local to me.
