Martin and his staff prepared a will for my husband and I. Everyone at the office was communicative throughout, and made the process enjoyable and painless. No legalese in the wills. Simple language for lay people to understand. Highly recommend this law office to anyone.

Best law office for purchasing a house! I recently purchased a house and used Oddleifson & Kaup Law to deal with my purchase. I had many questions over the time it took to close the deal and take possession, they were always available and ready to answer. I was treated with such care and the process went so smooth. I would highly recommend this law office to anyone wanting a well explained, and easy process when purchasing a home. Thank you Matt, Carol & team for your hard work!

I just sold my house in St. Albert, Alberta and was recommended this law firm through my realtor. Selling a house that you have lived in for a very long time can be a stressful process. The whole sale was stressful from the beginning of having the sign put on the lawn a day before the awareness and shutdowns due to Covid19, and the house being listed on the MLS shortly thereafter. After meeting and dealing with Rania, the Legal Assistant for the law firm, over the phone and through emails, a lot of the stresses were alleviated. She was amazing and was always there for every question whether the question pertained to the physical aspect of the sale or the emotional. My experience with my lawyer Matthew was very positive as well. He was also very professional and personable and never faltered to answer any of my questions or to share his knowledge. As well, everybody who answered the phones were always respectable and pleasant.

Matthew and his team are incredible! As a realtor having a trusted resource to lean on and send clients to is a tremendous asset. So many things can pop up in the transaction of buying or selling a home that having a great lawyer that can skillfully guide you through the process is key. They provide great value and are willing to answer any questions myself or my clients ever have. If you are looking for a great legal team look no further, choose Matthew and his team!

I recently hired Matthew Kaup for a property my husband and I purchased. I cannot say anything positive about the experience. During the deal Matthew and his team messed up a $7000 return which was crippling for our family. There was a quick, empty apology, and then moved on to taking our money for their fee… Fast forward 6 months- I hire an electrician to come install a projector in my ceiling and he informs me my electrical is not built to code, keeping in mind this is a brand new build and there should have been inspections done by the city. After going in circles between the developer, property manager, city, I am told that after all 5 final inspections are completed on the build the city issues an Occupancy report to the developer in order to sell the units. My house had none of this paper work as no final inspections were ever done on my property. Finding this out I called Kaup law to inquire if they had this documentation of an Occupancy report. They lied, said of course they have it- I asked them if they could forward me the report (knowing there is no way they could possibly have this report as the city didn’t even have a copy), of course it was not sent to me as they insisted they had it. The following day Matthew called me to insist this is not his job to have occupancy reports allowing the property to be sold. After 10 min of him arguing with me that it’s not his job and I should of requested it during my walk through, I had to end the conversation as it was getting no where. I have spoken to another lawyer that deals with real estate and they have confirmed 100% this is Matthews responsibility and that the units in my complex should never of been sold in the first place and I am at risk of being vacated from my house from the city while the developer has the units inspected and does the electrical repairs. Thanks so much Kaup law for taking my money and not doing a shred of work to ensure all the paperwork is in order. And a huge thank you for trying to say I should have requested it almost as if I’m a lawyer and should know it is needed…
