Katherine Chu MD

Today was my first visit with Dr. Chu and if i could rate her and her staff more than 5 starts I would. Dr. Chu is an amazing, caring and kind doctor. She listened to my concerns and made me feel very comfortable. I wish I had found her sooner. I am so glad that my family doctor referred me to her. If your looking for a friendly,compassion, honest and caring OB, Dr. Chu is the best.

Dr Chu is very nice person and very professional. Before I saw her, I had almost been bothered by my problem for 7 years without solution and had seen many doctors already. In the very first day she met me, she started a new treatment on me immediately. Although as a long time issue, it was not easy to resolve, she kept trying so many ways for me. At least during the treatment, I felt less pain. And I believe she will resolve my problem eventually.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chu for the past 7 years, and after my last appointment I will be switching gynecologists. On the odd day she can be pleasant but majority of the times I've visited she has been condescending, rude, and impatient. The wait times are always atrocious, on average you're looking at a 45 min wait. The front desk receptionist is the same, on the odd day she can be nice but most of the time she is miserable and rude. Some compassion and patience can go along way especially when you have patients dealing with health issues.

Katherine Chu is by far the best doctor I’ve ever been to. She’s attentive to her patients’ concerns and makes it a priority to ensure they feel comfortable in her office. The receptionist has always returned my calls in a timely manner even on busy days. If you are looking for a reliable, thoughtful medical practitioner I would definitely pick this place.

Dr.Chu is very knowledgeable, she takes the time to explain your issue. When doing exam, she walks you through it step by step. She is very easy to talk, she listens to you,answers your questions and makes you feel comfortable. She is the Dr. to see, would recommend.

Dr. Chu has been my gynecologist for almost 10 years and I am grateful for her. She goes out of her way to show how much she cares about women's health and comfort. She is very accommodating and understanding! I have also always had a great experience with the front desk staff.

Worst doctor I have ever encountered in my life. As it was my first time visiting a gynaecologist, I was hoping to be met with someone caring, gentle and attentive to my symptoms but was met with the absolute opposite. From the very beginning of my appointment to the end it was a disaster. Extremely cluttered, unsanitary office with no changing/dressing area. As the appointment began 20 minutes late, I checked the time on my phone while she was reading my ultrasound report (that she had not read in advance of my appointment) and rudely told me turn my phone off. As I began to tell her my symptoms and the timeline of them, she brushed past them completely and then continued to ask questions that would have been answered if she listened to me previously. Additionally, she scolded me for not giving concise answers to her questions when the lab report was right in front of her. She told my symptoms were most likely not real as if I wasn't the one suffering from them in the first place and had not had MULTIPLE ultrasounds confirm that I did. During the physical examination she was very rough and rude when I asked about the procedure I was brushed off. She even opened her office door while I was in the stirrups to talk with the receptionist which was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. Finally, when explaining my irregular periods, she seemed annoyed that I was wasting her time with my medical problems. Overall she is a very arrogant, disrespectful and unprofessional doctor that I would never recommend to anyone. As a doctor who diagnoses such intimate and private parts of your life and body, you'd expect someone willing to listen, caring and helpful. If that is what you're looking for then do not bother seeking help from this doctor. It's extremely disheartening and insulting to wait months for a specialist only to be told that your symptoms are made up when they are evidently not. I have never left a review for anything before but anyone visiting her deserves to know the experience they will be met with.

I agree with all the negative reviews here. She is extremely condescending and rude. I've never felt so insecure and uncomfortable and the only thing i could think is when i get to leave. As a doctor, you should expect someone who is kind, compassionate, and someone you can easily talk to NOT someone like Katherine. Note: she is being under investigation by CPSO for misconduct / incompetence AND for breaking public health infection control effective Nov 2021
