Horrible service...arrived there today with a simply fix...A tire change..emergency repair..refused to repair..said leave it here maybe sometime in January...Had to be towed 140 km..at about a 500 $ ...to Fountain Tire Terrace Bc...that will be fixed the next day..Being a company truck not aloud to do repairs myself.... Feel so sorry if this was a stranded driver with children on a cold winter day... No care in the world to care....shame on you Kal Tire...Prince Rupert

I've never, ever paid this much for an oil change. I was shocked that I was expected to pay $150.00 for a simple oil change on my 2019 GMC Sierra.....the front end staff was friendly, but very uninformative....she quoted me at less than $100.00 over the phone.....I thought that was a bit much, since I usually only pay $40-60.00 for an oil change else where....upon arrival, the price changed to $150.00 after the front end staff requested to look at my vehicle registration....something that has never, ever been requested of me when getting an oil change at other businesses....maybe the price went up when she observed an out of prince rupert address?

I am new to Prince Rupert and am finding that I am constantly disappointed by the customer service from many businesses in this small town. Perhaps I have been spoiled, living in a big city where competition is high and customer service is key, but it doesn't feel like some businesses care about keeping customers in this small town. The service on my vehicle took many days longer than expected and then when my vehicle was ready, I was travelling and couldn't pick it up for several days. I was told that the business is not responsible for damage on the vehicle, if something happens to it until I can get there to pick it up. Fine, I don't mind being told that but the agent was very unfriendly about it. Also, when I picked my vehicle up, there were 3 people working as customer service agents. I was the only customer in the front and all 3 of them were more concerned about filling an order for a corporate client. They certainly weren't concerned about making small talk with me or explaining the service that was completed on my vehicle. I didn't get the feeling that they wanted me back as a customer. I walked out of there feeling frustrated, and not good about the whole experience. Lastly, apparently Kal Tire offers a V.I.P. program for military personnel, in which a discount is provided on service, tires, etc. I asked about the discount and they were unable to offer it to me, even though our military program has them listed as a discount provider. The customer service agent at Kal Tire explained that they already discount their services and that further discount is not necessary. I wish Kal Tire would not be listed as a military discount provider, if they don't honor it. I hope that I don't have to go back to this business for service in the future, but it may happen as our options are limited in this town. I hope that the customer service staff reads some of these reviews and will treat private customers better in the future, don't just worry about your big corporate clients! Other people that I work with have had similar experiences at this business.

Good service but that's normal at this Kaltire. Nobody's perfect so 4 stars. Would have to wax my car to get a 5 LOL.

Waste of time. Unprofessional staff. I called ahead of time to see if they could do an oil change on my vehicle, because it's brand new some places don't have the oil filter. The lady on the phone told me they could do the oil change, and give me a shuttle ride back to work as I was going to use my lunch break. I get there, and they tell me that they can't give me a shuttle ride, and then they look at my vehicle and tell me they also can't do the oil change because it's too new. Even though I asked on the phone to start with. Thanks for using up my lunch break for nothing ?

Got me out of a jam with a bald tire. They were quick and very personable. Being from out of town, gave of us insight of things to see on our travels to Haida Gwaii. No running around or feeling like I was a being screwed over. Very happy with the experience!! Definitely went the extra mile.
