I discovered a leaking seal on skid steer at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon before long weekend. Phoned John's equipment at 5:03. Ted answered, sent an email to confirm part, and Phoned me back with instructions how to pick up part that night. Thanks John at John's equipment, you rock!

Snow blower would not start and took it in after phone conversation with staff and them stating it would most likely be a carburetor issue and was told the cost would run anywhere from $85-$100. Picked it up today and it was a carburetor issue like they thought. I was however extremely surprised when the bill was just under $170.00 They claimed gas was a tan color when I had in fact just put gas into it the day I dropped it off. Plus they changed a spark plug that was only 2 yrs old. The 3L of gas they supposedly replaced, only have their word on that was at a cost of 1.84/ liter. On top of all of the above they left grease smudges on all knobs and controls. My husband is maticulous at keeping things clean so it was the first thing he noticed when he went to prime it. Feeling totally ripped off and disgusted at the lack of service quality. Will not be returning to them ever again

I have waited to write this review as I was hoping....Never mind what I was hoping. We brought our Cub Cadet mower into John's Equipment for service. It was leaking oil. The mower is a 2554 Cub with just over 400 hrs on it. The oil was changed and a new oil filter (Kohler, purchased at John's equipment) was installed at 400 hrs, we did this work ourselves. After they inspected the machine Mark told us the PTO clutch was seized and they were going to try and heat it up to remove it. He also told us we needed a new throttle cable. No problem, we received the good news that they were successful in removing the clutch so we wouldn't need a new one. Yay!....They put everything back together and it didn't work. Boo! A new clutch has to be ordered. We are now at the one week mark of John's Equipment having our Cub. Mark informs us that it will take another week for them to get the new clutch. We ask about a loaner mower because as you may know, summer 2017 is very rainy and the grass likes to grow, therefore needs to be cut. Mark calls he managed to finds us a new clutch and it will be in the next day. We finally get the mower back after almost two weeks and Mark is on holidays. We pay for parts only (over $600.00) until Mark is back from holidays because it is a shock what they want to charge us. We get the mower home and unload it no problem. We put the deck back on and open the hood. This is what we find: the engine cowling is not secure (one bolt and it is not tightened), the engine oil dipstick is now a stick with a clump of electrical tape holding it so it doesn't fall into the engine (we later discover that it is not even the proper dipstick for our machine, it is for another model). We don't know what happened to the dipstick our machine arrived with. An old oil filter is now replacing the new one we installed. The throttle cable they replaced is not secure because the mount for the throttle cable is broken. It was not broken when we brought the machine in. AND yes it is still leaking oil. We recorded all our findings and after much back and forth with Mark (the owner, John, was never available) they did not end up charging us the $595.00 labor. They wanted us to bring the mower back in to repair the issues, at a cost. We asked who would be doing the repairs and they informed us the same tech who worked on it originally would be working on it again. Apparently he is the only tech that does small engine repairs at John's Equipment. No thank you. We won't be dealing with John's Equipment again in the future. Looking back on the equipment we have had serviced there in the past and there are no redeeming qualities. We like to support local businesses, we bought our Cub Cadet and Roto-tiller at John's. We have always bought our replacement blades, belts, oil filters etc from them. Not anymore. We are very disappointed.

If I could give them less than one star I would. I bought my cub cadet lawn mower from them, it refused to start so I called them. They had it in the shop six times to fix it. It still doesn’t start and now they say oh it’s out of warranty. Then they say well we came out there was nothing wrong with it . Then why did you keep coming out and why am I calling you if my lawn more is working. Don’t deal with these shysters. They’re nasty they’re mean and they’re dishonest go somewhere else. I called cub cadet and they assured me I was still under warranty. So John’s equipment lied to me.

We've been a customer of John's for many years. Other than the time they installed a steel gas tank instead of the aluminum one that we ordered (and refused to fix it), we had been reasonably satisfied. Until last month when we brought our truck in for a safety and John, the owner, freaked out at us (in front of all his staff and other customers) about a outstanding previous invoice. The problem, however, is that we had never received said invoice. John said his staff was infallible and that wasn't possible, so he refused to release our truck until we paid this invoice. While we thought this was ridiculously rude, we paid, only to discover later that $160 of interest was added to the invoice we never received! This review would never had been published had John's refunded this interest charge when discovered, but alas, they have refused. Apparently, in spite of never receiving the original invoice nor any monthly statements, we should have called them to ask them if we owed any money! Good riddance - we've switched to Action Towing and Automotive instead - they've been great and the safety was $1000 cheaper than John's quote.

John's Equipment is an official dealer of Cub Cadet and less than 10 mins from my house. Therefore I relied on John and his great staff for my purchase of a 2021 heavy duty Cub Cadet snowblower (support local!). Turns out it was a great decision! The machine works great. But even better was that they delivered it and I discovered they had even prefilled it with gas - nice touch! I would recommend John's for all of your equipment needs.
