JB Woodwork Design

I hired Jose ( owner of JB woodworks) to reface some existing cabinets and custom build some pieces for my kitchen. Jose was a wealth of knowledge and helped guide my husband and I on the design. We are not kitchen professionals. I went to the showroom picked out the materials and Jose recommended my handles. I was told my kitchen would be completed end of April. There were some events that occurred in Jose life that pushed our timeline to first part of June. This was no fault of Jose as family comes first. Jose would say he would be coming to my home at 9:30 am and would not show up or come late in the day. A few times his crew stayed late in the evening. My husband and I chalked it up to him being behind so we were accommodating. Jose came to my home and his truck left oil stains in my driveway. He stated that he tried cleaning it but couldn’t get it out. We live in a condo, I don’t own my driveway and we held money back to see if condo corporation will charge us. Jose offered to send over someone to power wash my driveway. We explained that we tried it in the past but it wouldn’t work. He is very angry that we expect him to pay for the damage. When we were getting the quote for our kitchen we stated we wanted soft close on the cupboards and doors. Jose custom built a unit between my fridge and stove all with soft close. He said he was going to remove a cupboard unit underneath an existing drawer and put 2 drawers underneath, original quote and design. He came and installed units that he built. My existing 3 drawer unit my husband asked him to remake drawers and make them soft touch. He said there would be an extra fee for those 3 drawers. We said to do it as we want them all the same. Jose came to me and told me my handles would not work, the handles he recommended. Thank God my husband figured out how to get them to fit because I wanted a clean, modern look. Jose and his crew came to finish our kitchen. We trusted his crew so we left for the day. Jose said our kitchen was complete. We arrived home and the drawers were uneven, cupboard doors were not even, one cupboard banged into the other. My husband contacted him and he pretty much blamed us for leaving. He told my husband he should learn how to adjust the doors. He said that it was because my units were old and it was hard to make anything straight but if had put in units he built than it would be straight. My husband explained that the units he built were not even straight. We told him the quality of the cupboards were great but the finesse was lacking. He came back to my home to fix the issues. He left and when I came back I noticed I still had an uneven cupboard. My husband phoned him. He stated that every time a cupboard was crooked we were going to phone him. He told my husband to take a few hundred dollars off. He had quite the attitude. My husband stated he would not be paid until it was done. He came back spent some time on a cupboard he built to straighten it. Jose even charged extra for drawers that were part of the original design. He stated he was going to put old technology on my drawer unit ( no soft touch). These drawers were in the original quote, at no time did he mention this until he wanted to charge us at the end. He calls and pretty much blames us for any issues. He keeps saying things don’t line up because of my old cabinets ( we checked with a level and a square, they are level). He should have voiced his concerns before taking on the job. I could’ve looked elsewhere if refacing wasn’t his strong suit. He now is harassing us for the remainder of his money ( we paid him 98%) so he can be rid of us. He has repeatedly blamed us for everything that has happened. So this is his way of saying that he won’t honour his work or any warranties. He has told us to go ahead and put it on social media. It’s like a nightmare. Would never recommend his company just based on him. Buyer beware. It’s a shame because I really love my new kitchen

Disappointing experience. My job was not big enough for JB Woodwork, owner was straightforward and explained he didn’t want the job. (I completely understood where he was coming from) Then offered to cut and sell me the material I needed to complete the project. Pricing was discussed and confirmed. When I provided the measurements for what I needed, he then indicated he was too busy and didn’t have time. Then hung up me while on the phone.... very unprofessional. Must have caught him on a bad day.... too bad things ended this way.

I’ve know Jose my whole life as a family friend. He’s modelled both bedrooms I’ve had when going up and he always comes up with good designs that overcome my expectations. He’s also done my bathroom that always leaves me happy and appreciative. I would recommend his services to everyone who wants their dream bedroom and quality workmanship.

We hired Joe to remodel our kitchen. He went beyond and above. Our kitchen looks amazing. We're very pleased with the outcome. His employees were always very nice and respectful, always cleaned up before they went home. Joe works with any budget and always has great ideas and suggestions. Contemporary TV Unit - We had the opportunity to work with JB Woodwork for our TV unit for our family room. We had a great experience not only because JB was on time with the delivery of the Tv Unit, but also because his input - based on his many years of experience - about style and design we should order was accordingly to our 15 yrs old house. They did all last minutes changes in a prompt manner; JB's team came to our house , they took care of hardwood floor and walls during the time that the installation completed. We really recommend JB Woodwork to our family and friends.

I hired Jose to remodel my kitchen and he went above and beyond my expectations. My new kitchen looks more open and brings more light then the one we started with before. It has tons more space to fit all our kitchen supplies and is way more accessible to everything. He had ideas to bring forth and we loved every design. Everyone of his employees that came to help out were polite and respectful of the household members and items inside our home. They would always clean up whatever mess they had made before they left and left us speechless with the end product. We also had our basement and front room closet done by JB woodwork designs as well and have received many compliments .Im loving my house more and more thanks to Jose and his brilliant designs.

I’ve used jose for three kitchens now. He’s great with design. Works within any budget and always comes up with great unique and inexpensive ideas to exceed any expectations I’ve had. He’s easy to work with sticks to the projects schedule and makes it a fun experience. No project is to big or to small for him and his crew. I couldn’t say enough about not only for best bang for your buck with Jb woodworking but for quality of workmanship he brings to your project. Anyone looking for quality work with great design you won’t be disappointed

We were exceptionally pleased with the work Jose and his men did. We had quite an extensive project including many bathroom cabinets, a stunning master ensuite walk in closet and a very large built in guest room closet and desk . The work is top notch with Jose making sure we were happy at all steps during the entire process. The entire crew was professional, polite and very friendly.
