About Jay’s

As of June 1, 2013 Jay’s became a stand-alone business within Mullen Group Ltd. Mullen Group Ltd. is a large provider of specialized transportation and related services to the oil and natural gas industry within Western Canada and is a leading supplier of trucking and logistics services. Jay’s is the twenty-sixth company purchased by the Mullen Group and the first with a Moving Division.

“We are extremely pleased to add Jay’s to our organization,” says Murray Mullen, chairman and CEO of Mullen Group. “[Jay’s] has an excellent reputation for providing outstanding service to its customers and we look forward to working with the management team to enhance the service offerings to Mullen Group’s existing customers… This is a great company with an established history and a strong management team.”

Our president and COO Terry Simonson had the following to say about the transition “We’ll continue the way we always have for almost 49 years. It’s very good for the Jay’s Group…” We have been assured by the Mullen Group that there will be no layoffs and if anything, the company will see more growth in our future.

We at Jay’s have come a long way in the past 49 years and look forward to this chapter in our history.

As the Chairman and CEO of Mullen Group Ltd. Murray Mullen is no stranger to acquiring new companies. When the opportunity presented itself, he knew that it was the right decision to invest in Jay’s Moving and Storage Ltd.

From the start Mr. Mullen saw Jay’s for what they are; a self-supporting and driven company with a staff that cares about the way they run their business. He believes in allowing the business units to manage themselves and in supporting the decisions they make as a company by “challenging [their] people to enhance their leadership skills and overall abilities through continuous training.”

Mr. Mullen understands that Jay’s has a family oriented culture within their doors.  Growing up and working with 3 brothers and following in his Father’s footsteps as the CEO of Mullen Group Ltd., has allowed him to understand how important co-workers and employees are to an organization.  He believes in cultivating staff and allowing them to grow with the company. He uses a “locker room philosophy” when describing the way he envisions a business to run. Staff should be treated as a team; there is comradery between employees and management that allows the business to run as smoothly as possible and gives employees the opportunity to have their voices heard.

When asked about Jay’s community involvement throughout the years and if we would continue to support these causes, he immediately replied, “I am fully supportive of your initiatives because [Mullen Group] believe that our Business Units and the employees have an obligation to support the communities that we live, work and play in.”

After speaking with Mr. Mullen it is obvious to see that he is a caring and compassionate man with a passion for what he does and in helping businesses succeed in their endeavours.

I have used Jay is moving and storage on several occasions now as well as recommended them to clients and they have always been fantastic. I certainly appreciate the fact that you can buy packing boxes there and return them once you were all done and get a return credit back on them. The staff are always very personable and the moving guys are very courteous and professional about what they do.

Jays is contracted by Costco to deliver oversized items in Saskatoon and area. I had booked a delivery date 2 weeks in advance to have a tv delivered to a rural address an hour outside of Saskatoon to which they delivered. 3 days before the delivery date Jays called to cancel the delivery because they didn’t have a truck going my way with no new expected delivery date. They would let me know when they would have a truck coming my way because they were not going to deliver it until it was worth their while. They told me they only get $45 from Costco to deliver and only deliver when they have something else going that way. I can’t believe Costco works with this company.

Been to this place delivery appliances 4-5 times.. extremely rude receivers will take forever to unload 5-6 appliances. They will prioritize their work instead of respecting your appointment time.

Disappointed in the quote system from Jay's. Every time we speak, they try to increase the job to raise the price.

DO NOT book this company. They have Geransky's Moving with them now, the quality and the service is TERRIBLE!! I had to call the office as the movers were over an hour and a half late. They finally showed up almost two hours late. There were almost a dozen spots on the walls that needed to be repaired by a painter after their careless job. They also left huge scratches on a new piece of furniture, which could have been avoided if they wrapped it properly and took more care packing their truck. I was told management would be in touch several times and never heard from them.

We had a refrigerator delivered today by Jay's...The two young men were so personable, and hard working...got it in although a tight squeeze! And they removed our old refrigerator! They lifted it up like it was a feather lol It could not have been better service. Thank you so much!

Do not hire Jays moving. Bruce Pongracz will promise everything and it will not go as planned. They Shipped us to Ontario in a regular transport. All our possessions are damaged from improper packing. They didn't have the loads properly weighted. They unloaded out stuff at a different person's house due to they way Jays packed and labeled the loads wrong. I paid for someone else's move and weight. I am still hounding atlas for the refund. It was supposed to be sent in July then Oct. Now they forgot so December 15th they said it will be issued again. As for Jay's saskatoon and Bruce Pongracz will just send you to customer service and you will never see him again. Once you approve your move with them you won't see or hear from Bruce Pongracz. You just end up paying and getting screwed. Thanks Bruce Pongracz.

Lorraine in the office was excellent to deal with to set up the move. Communication with her was timely, clear and concise. What was promised was delivered. Cannot say enough about the three young men who did the move for us. Brandon, Alex and Tristan. We were moving my niece out of a third floor walk up (no elevator and tight stairwell) to a main floor apartment across the city. Those men hustled! Very personable, professional, and efficient young men. Nothing damaged and all furniture set up in place at destination. When we picked up moving boxes from the office everyone who walked by said hello and asked if we had been helped yet. Great that I can return the undamaged used boxes for a full refund! Bonus!
