Despite the COVID-19 crisis that is currently underway, Janice was able to move my file forward and get a consent order in place that dealt not only with custody and access of my daughter, but that also dealt with the complexities of what would happen with a business that I jointly own with my estranged husband until the courts re-open. I was very impressed with Janice’s negotiation skills and her ability to deal with such a complex matter during a time when her physical office is closed. She continues to work for me to move this matter forward while we are all contained, such that when the courts reopen we will be ready for our first case conference. I am most appreciative of this.

After reviewing the circumstances of my case with me, Janice agreed that it was in the best interests of my children for me to be their primary parent-despite the fact that this is not common. I had used her to negotiate and prepare a marriage contract for me when I married later in life after many years of being single. She negotiated a fantastic deal for me. When my son needed a cohabitation agreement I referred him to Ms. Younker. We both found her to be very attentive to our needs and very settlement oriented. On the other hand, she is strong and tough, and able to handle the most aggressive lawyer out there is necessary. Her fees were very reasonable.

I work full time and had trouble making it to her office during regular hours. She accommodated me so that I did not miss work. I was very stressed, as I had never dealt with a lawyer before my marriage breakdown and I did not know what to expect. Janice was open and honest with me about everything, including the range of fees that I could anticipate, depending upon what happened with my case. My wife’s lawyer was really nasty and unprofessional. Janice ignored that behavior and kept telling me to do so as well, while we stayed focused on then end goal of getting a reasonable settlement at the least possible cost. I have recommended Ms. Younker to many of my friends since that time.

My husband at the time retained her and she kept us fighting in order to make money. She took MANY HOLIDAYS with his money. Before he figured it out, we were out 75K each! He had to fire her. I’ve warned everyone I know about her. Marian Gage and Anne McGrath in Oakville are friends and know how to resolve disputes with minimal cost.
