Wonderful librarians with a great selection of books in all genres; they also host a lot of small seminars & workshops and it's a great place for kids.

I come here on a regular basis to study and do school work. I've always enjoyed coming here as it allowed me to be productive and I also felt welcome in the library. Yesturday, January 23 in the afternoon (maybe 1 or 2pm) my opinion of this library has compeltly changed. I was minding my own business as my table, when another gentleman, maybe early to mid twenties came to sit down an the tabke next to me. He pulled out his laptop and started working. Nothing suspicious. I have storng gut feelings about everything, so I know what something unusual is up. Carolyn, the director came up to this man, alongside one of her co workers and demanded to look inside of this man's backpack. Now I can compeltly understand that they would feel the need to do this is they saw suspicious activity, but I think they could have handled it better. This man was also middle eastern, which makes me think they did this because of race and the stereotypes around it. The tone in her voice was quite frankly disquisting and left me unsettled. They asked for him to open his bag and I think I saw her reaching her hand in his bag. Carolyn having her coworker behind her for "backup" made the situation even more uncomfortable. I felt so terrible for this more guy, and the embarresment that was put on him as everyone around him witnessed this. In my opinion, they could have dealt with this much more professionally, by pulling him aside from others in the library, etc. Anways I'm glad thag Carolyn is retiring as I wonder for how long she has been treating people like this. Hopefully the other wonderful staff memebers can be educated on this topic to hopefully prevent any of these uncomfortable scenerios the future. I am reconsidering my habit of coming here to do schoolwork now that I have witnessed such a disturbing scene.

Great setup. Good book selection comfy seats. Wifi internet access. This place would be lovely if people would stop bringing their crying kids in there. It's a library for crying out loud not a playground. Never seen library this noisy.

The Jake Epp Library is a fabulous facility, not only for library books, but for an endless supply of family programs for all ages. If they don't have the book I'd like, they're able to get it from another facility. By far my favourite place to go. An invaluable community facility which has something for everyone.

It's awesome!? Although I really will say that about any library. ? Lots of book selection and a great place to hang out!

I have found the library's selection to be rather limited. While there are programs, like inter-library lending, to expand user selection, these have been problematic and may incur a cost to the user. Even with the library expansion years back, there is not enough funding to make this library a viable reference. I am not adverse to a cost-for-service model as I suspect many others would. And the library has tried hard to provide other value such as their reading program to young children. But there seems to be too many directions for the budget. Please note, my rating is a 3 because I think the staff work hard to make the library a great place. It would be lower without their commitment to excellence.
