β β β β β 3 stars doesnt mean bad! I would say it is a chinese family style restaurant with north american style in it.
a lot of choices here in terms of food, we ordered 4 dishes (Green beans/ sizzlings chicken in pot/ Fried egg with bittermelon/ Deep-Fried fish and tofu in pot)
All dishes are tasty even judging them on an authentic chinese food perspective. however seasoning may be a little bit salty, and oily.
but it is good if you eat them with rice, so the rice will neutralize the salty taste and oily feeling.
talked to the waitress, she said they are mainly serving the neighborhood customers, and matter of facts, during or dinner, a lot of locals coming in for dine in or take out.
I assume this restaurant has built its reputation in the hood.
Would recommend if you are looking for a casual chinese dinner in that area

β β β β β Always a pleasant experience whether it is dine-in or take out. Consistently good food and have always been very polite and flexible on dietary issues. A very good value for the amount of food you get ?? Also thank you so much for having delivery as an option other than just doordash β€οΈ

β β β β β So I ordered chicken chow mein, spring rolls and house special fried rice for delivery. I got crispy fried vermicelli noodles with some gross side sauce, soft spring rolls low key not even cooked and then raw pork in the fried rice.
I called the restaurant and told them that this was not what I ordered(the noodles) and they offered me a complimentary wonton soup... I said um, no thank you. Can i get the aight order tonight? You guys deliver, cant you just make up for your mistake since i have paid for delivery etc. They said they couldnt afford to pay for another delivery... so I said thatvidba bit unfair since this was your mistake. Then they proceeded to blame covid, I work in a restaurant- we are all suffering. This was not a valid excuse to me. At most they would pay their driver 3 to 5 dollars AT MOST.
Regardless I was like k fine you messed up and you wont fix it whatever. I got them to agree to a store credit of "free" chow mein aka what I paid for. But it couldnt be tonight. AND if I wanted to order delivery again for this complimentary chow mein, I would have to spend a minimum of 10 dollars and pay for delivery LOL
So I said k fine, I will just pick it up at a later date. So I eat my fried rice and the pork is raw. Pictures attached... I have ordered from here before but it has really gone down hill.
Just dont get anything with pork....
And don't order delivery.... unless you specific exactly what the order is AGAIN in the little text box.
Honestly like you're better off going somewhere else

β β β β β Sweet and sour chicken was good but everything else tasted off. The spring rolls and other chicken were soggy. One of the wonton soup bowls had also cracked and leaked in the bag. They used their own delivery service so you canβt track your order and the whole process from ordering to delivery took about 1h 45m. The driver didnβt call on arrival and marked the food as delivered before we even got our food, which lead to us having to call the restaurant. We ordered about $100 worth of food and it really wasnβt worth it.

β β β β β Excellent Chinese food. Quality and portions are always consistent. The staff here are fantastic and the service is fast. We always order the garlic spicy squid, chicken wings, sweet n' sour pork, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. This restaurant is definitely as good if not better than other Chinese restaurants in Vancouver or Richmond.

β β β β β With the limited Chinese restaurant options in North Van, Jade Garden serves up consistently delicious Szechuan style dishes. Prices have gone up but their portions have have remain huge (if not bigger than I remember).
Ginger beef, spicy eggplant hotpot, fish maw soup are our favourites. Hainanese chicken and seafood fried rice are also very tasty.
Quick and friendly service. They do deliver but portions are smaller than dining in.
