★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful park with a long cycling path. They have a nice bridge-like structure which is really nice to walk on. You get a great view of the entire city from here. Don't expect to see those statues, they built them for a show and they are long gone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite park in Ottawa. Spring and fall bring the best mushroom harvest in Ottawa. Relax with whitetail deer. Wild Turkey everywhere. The biggest Alqonqin sediment in Canada. Great carp fishing. And a spitaculer wooden ship wreck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I feel the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River doesn’t get as much recognition as Ottawa. The views are actually better from this perspective due to being able to see the skyline of Ottawa. Jacques Cartier Park is a great space for that. Lately though it’s been off limits due to the maintenance requirements. Once open again it will be a pleasant space to enjoy and take in the environment. ?☺️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing park for walking, running and biking. Lovely trail. If you are lucky you’ll sight some deer, turkey and sort of wild life around the park.
Bonus: look around and you’ll find some lovely hidden sandy river bank with a view of Rideau Fall.
