★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hiked the Isputinaw Trail on April 2, 2021. It’s a short and sweet, 1.4 km loop. The trail is accessed from through the Kiche Manitou campground.
The trail leads through a marshy area on a wooden boardwalk at first (it was a bit icy in some areas and flooded in a few other spots). The trail then begins to climb through the forest before reaching a wooden ladder with a short but steep climb to the top of the hill. There were great views at the top! The path continued through forest on the hill and along a narrow open ledge with more nice views before descending back to the marsh. The trail was a bit muddy in the lower areas. I liked the terrain and views on this hike and it was pretty!
The trail was quiet and I was the only one there. It took me 30 minutes to complete. This is a nice little hike to add in after Spirit Sands or another longer one in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little trail. Nice to get some elevation in a hike when you’re surrounded by flat prairies. It was a good mix of marshy areas covered by board walk, packed mud, little bridges and one Fantastic view thats worth the steep hike up. Best to go on a dry day because on a wet day this trail will get real muddy!
