What began as a relatively simple wisdom tooth extraction, yielded the discovery of an existing massive cyst within my son's sinus cavity - something that had gone undiagnosed despite several appointment with our family physician. The oral surgeon's diligence and knowledge facilitated not only answers but a treatment plan to manage the cyst. If we had questions after hours, we were able to reach the surgeon for answers. At each subsequent appointment we were kept informed and treated with care and respect. I feel very fortunate to have found this calibre of oral surgeon and quality staff here in Parksville.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had lower jaw surgery performed by Dr. Olynik and Dr. Crowley in July of this year. I am very pleased with the results and I was happy with the professionalism of the office staff and the service I received during this challenging pandemic times. Dr. Olynik was very helpful in explaining the procedure and following up on my post operative recovery. I was also very satisfied with the care I received at Nanaimo general hospital. I would definitely recommend the services of this team to anyone considering oral surgery. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have never had any type of surgery before , so I was very very nervous for my wisdom teeth removal , but the entire staff treated me so well! From the moment I walked in the door the receptionist Kelsey was so funny and nice and made me feel at ease. Erin (the nurse) and Dr.Piemontesi we’re so so kind. They went above and beyond in my opinion , never for a moment did I feel scared or nervous. The dental assistant hadden was very kind and gentle and made me feel very safe the entire time! 10/10 recommend :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In September 2019 I had a bi-maxillary Osteotomy performed by Dr. Sansalone. I just recently got my braces off and can see the change in all its glory! I met with Dr. Sansalone several times leading up to the surgery and he helped me feel very comfortable about the procedure. He was direct and to the point about every detail, and I was able to ask any questions I had. I felt as comfortable as I could feel during this whole process. He did an incredible job, and I trusted him along every step of the way. His team worked seamlessly with Ocean's Edge Orthodontics to streamline the whole process.
I was happy with my service in the office, and especially with the commitment Dr. Sansalone had to my health and well being. Thanks to his recommendations and guidance, I had a very speedy recovery and was back in school nine days later!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sat in the waiting room for more than an hour past our scheduled appointment but the staff were sure to let us know it was OUR fault they forgot us. Very frustrating lack of respect for patients. Be prepared for unprofessional front end staff. Dr. Sansaloni was courteous and professional though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a Lower Jaw surgery in 2016, was informed that very few in 100 patients will lose their sensation but most gain it back.
I lost sensation on my lower lip and chin, with a tingling sensation that I currently live.
I recommend patients to seek proper medical advice It is not worth losing sensation on your lower chin/lip/gums.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful staff and service. I was super nervous to get my wisdom teeth extracted at the age of 32. The team made the whole process so stress free for me. Dr. Sansalone was patient and always address any questions or concerns I have. The post-op care was wonderful as well. They fit me into same day appointments when I have some pain. The front desk staff always greeted me with my name even before I walk through the door. Highly recommend!
