ANGER MANAGEMENT COUNSELLING PROGRAM

The Anger Management Program is offered to:

• Individuals who are mandated by the court to take Anger Management Counselling
• Referred by the probation officer
• Referred by a legal representative (family or criminal lawyer)
• Required through work or recommended by the employer
• Personal referrals

The following modules will be covered in the
8-week Anger Management Counselling sessions:

• Define Anger: Multifaceted Nature of Anger
• Identifying Anger Styles and Relevant Treatment Approaches
• Identifying and Working through Anger Triggers
• Recognizing and Re-structuring Unhealthy and Destructive Thoughts that Lead to Anger
• Steps for Effective Communication: The Art of Assertive Communication
• Conflict Resolution Styles: Ground Rules for Conflict Management
• Reducing Critical and Judgemental Reactions: Developing Empathy
• STOP and Think About the Consequences: Techniques for Relapse Prevention

Upon successful completion of the 8-week Anger Management Program, the participants will receive a ‘Certificate of Completion’

The participants will be required to complete the weekly Anger Log as part of their homework enabling them to apply the learned concepts to real life situations

A detailed letter of participation/enrolment for the court can also be provided upon client’s request with no additional cost

All services are provided as individual sessions or as group treatment depending on the program selected.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic Group sessions will resume in January 2022 or until further notice.
