I am seventy three, overweight and still full time employed. my mobility started to decrease rapidly and children arranged a meeting with HCR Solutions. Subsequently met with Kory three times a week. Mobility immediately began to improve. Was able to continue working as Kory scheduled to come to our house.

In August of 2014, my mother suffered a massive stoke that paralyzed her entire left side. My mother received physiotherapy at the hospital for about 3 weeks. However, the physiotherapy was discontinued because the hospital therapist felt that my mother was not responsive and not willing to participate. I begged them to continue to work with my mother. I explained to them that my mom was suffering from a medical condition that she had which was causing her intense pain and that is the reason why she was not participating as much as they expected. They explained to me that as a result of the severity of my mother’s stoke she may never be able to move her arm or her leg, and may never walk again. While that may be true, my family and I did not want to believe that without giving her a chance to succeed. We felt like they were giving up on our mother too soon. We didn’t give up hope and we knew that the first year was crucial for any level of recovery. We had to find someone who could come to the hospital to help our mother with physiotherapy. At this point we did not know what to do, but we knew we had to do something. We found HCR Solutions online and contacted them immediately. We spoke with Eric, the CEO and he came down to Calgary from Edmonton to assess our mother. He believed he could help our mother and we started the authorization process to allow HCR into the hospital to help our mom. It was a long and difficult process to get HCR solutions into the hospital. The hospital was hesitant because they did not understand why we wanted to bring outside help when they had a physiotherapy department in house. I explained to them that physiotherapy in the hospital would not continue physiotherapy treatment for my mom because she was not an ideal candidate to them. After countless conversations with the manager and unit manager we finally were able to get authorization. HCR Solutions have been working with our mother for 9 months now. Kory, from HCR, worked with my mother in the hospital and now he continues to work with her from our home. As a result of my mother’s stoke, she lost mobility on her entire left side. She could not sit up and would fall over on her weak side. My mother is now able to sit and hold herself up and is getting some movement in her leg and arm. She has made some great progress and we hope it will continue. Kory has been a key factor to my mother’s progress. He is knowledgeable, diligent, supportive and most of all caring. We are so thankful for HCR Solutions. My mother would not be where she is today if it were not for their help. With their support, we hope my mom will continue to make positive strides towards her recovery. If you have a loved one, family member, or friend who needs physiotherapy and is not receiving treatment because someone gave up on them, don’t give up because HCR Solutions may be able to help. We are so happy that we didn’t and hopefully my mother will be able to walk again – but at the very least, we feel my mother has a chance at a better quality of life.

I explained very carefully to reception that I was calling from Australia to arrange and pay for in home treatments for my mother who lives in Calgary. I explained to reception that my mother has a bundle of health problems ranging from her heel to her knee and hand, but on top of that she also has terrible osteoarthritis which causes severe chronic pain. I also highlighted my mothers nerve problems which cause itches and tingles which doesn't allow her to sleep. I made very clear that mom needed a full assessment of the range of problems, and that I was willing to pay any amount necessary to get results. On the day of mom's first appointment, Loring (the physical therapist) was not informed of the range of mom's problems and did not come prepared. She indicated that she was not prepared to conduct a full assessment because all she had been told was that mom had osteoarthritis. For example, she didn't bring her high massage bed which would have helped conduct the assessment. I am very disappointed that Loring did not come adequately equipped and prepared because I made very clear to the receptionist that there were several different medical issues needing to be assessed. Also, I can't fathom why I was not made aware that Loring was going to bring a trainee to mom's house. Had I known this, I would have asked her to come alone because I wanted the therapists full attention on mom, not on training someone. Hence I feel like this was inappropriate, especially to bring an additional person into our house uninvited and without making us aware in advance. I also asked reception to let Loring know that the initial consult was to be a surprise... and this is because if mom was aware, she would insist on paying for the treatment and I knew this would be a financial burden to her so I wanted the treatment to be a gift from me. I asked reception to please let Loring know that this was a surprise but she did not and Loring was shocked that my mom was unaware. Despite moms chronic and severe pains, she is motivated to exercise and I made this clear that Loring needs to give her many safe exercises that mom could work on at home frequently. Loring provided mom with only one exercise and told mom that she should be treated in clinic for more work to be done...even though I made clear that mom needs AT HOME exercises. There are a lot of reasons mom cant commute to the clinic and I did ask the receptionist to pass this on but once again, she did not. Despite the disappointing initial consult, I booked a second appointment (in house) for mom again. Loring did not show for this appointment and did not return calls or emails. When mom attempted to call her on the phone number Loring left her, the clinic said there was no record of my mom on file and that they did not treat patients in house. There was a lot of confusion on the phone and mom was made to feel embarrassed. I also rang them and emailed multiple times to ask why Loring did not show to the second appointment (and I asked if I could book another appointment) however a month went by and all my attempts to contact were ignored. Then suddenly the other day I received an email bill for the initial consult which I grudgingly paid. I am very unimpressed with the lack of communication between staff, the poor quality of service rendered, and even though I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars to help mom see results, I will never give this clinic my business again. If I could give zero stars out of 5 I would.

My mother suffers from a rare neurological disease that makes her a fall risk due to balance issues and other things. She lives in assisted living and recently broke her elbow, a disaster as she cannot walk without her walker. Her assisted living home recommended InHome for her recovery and from my first inquiring phone call the kindness of everyone I have dealt with has been exemplary. For the first time someone told me that they could work with her even though she has this difficult disease, and they had even heard of it. This was huge for me as many doctors and nurses often have to google it. Having a plan that she can do to help herself get better has made a huge difference to my mother's mental and physical health. The physio therapist who did her first assessment was positive and supportive, as is the exercise therapist who she meets with twice a week. They are flexible, knowledgeable, kind, and very reliable. Also, for coming to your home their prices are very comparable. I would highly recommend.

My dad has been working with Karen for his in home Physio for a few months now. We are seeing great improvement everyday. She has been doing a good job in getting him back on his feet. He has more confidence in being able to walk on his own now. I would highly recommend inHome physio for other patients. They are a great team to work with and you can see they really do care for their patients. . β€”Shelly

This is a wonderful service and I'm grateful for it. My 97 year old mother had a nasty cough with a lot of congestion. She was becoming worn out from coughing and didn't have the oomph to clear her chest. They sent out Mike and right away we knew we were in good hands. His knowledge and skills worked wonders and each treatment was very effective. Mike expertly adapted the treatments to my elderly, frail Mom. We credit Mike for my mom's recovery. So well worth it; I wish we had known about this service in the past!

Amazing service - great progress with my elderly father. Patient, kind and effective. Kory is the best! One year later update: Kory is still the best. He has been working with my father to maintain/improve his mobility for 2 years now - remarkable progress. If you need someone to improve a senior's mobility, ask for Kory. People are amazed when they have seen how much of a difference Kory has made in my father's mobility.

Nelson was wonderful! He was able to help work out some back problems I was having and gave me exercises and suggestions I could do to help it get better and stay better. He was very professional, on time, great at communicating what the problem was and what he was doing to make it better, and just all around great person and physio to invite into my home and help me. I’ll be making sure to book him next time and am very happy to recommend him and InHome Physiotherapy to others. Also, Arby the receptionist was so lovely and helpful! All around great experience!
