I have had terrible experience with my new Trane furnace. Since it was installed in August 2015 it broke down in December 2015 and this morning (January 7, 2017) it is broken again! Both times the hot surface igniter was cracked and had to be replaced. It seems to happen on the coldest days of winter! I have the furnace serviced every fall by a qualified company. I had a Career furnace for 12 years and it never broke down. So much for your slogan "you can't stop a Trane" . UPDATE April 18, 2018 Here is an update of my Trane furnaces woes as stated in my earlier review. My top of the line 2 year old Trane furnace (modulating and multispeed) finally died completely on December 27, 2017. The latest round of problems (in an endless chain) started on December 14, 2017 just as the coldest spell in years was starting in Ontario. I was told that the transformer and the circuit board were fried. The next day the new parts were installed but the furnace still did not work. I was informed that a new "personality module" was needed and it had to come from the Trane factory in Houston and that it would take 8 days. By now I am without heat for 10 days! A personality module is essentially a USB with the furnace program on it. Finally the personality module arrived after 7 days and was installed. I finally got heat. Unfortunately it did not last long. On December 27, 2017 I came home to a very cold house. The technician came and discovered what looked like a minor explosion had taken place in the back of the furnace. The wires into the igniter were ripped out, plastic connectors were brittle and crumbling and the wiring harness was completely singed. The technician told me that it was too dangerous to try and repair. At that point I made a decision to take the Trane furnace out of service altogether. I had a Lennox dealer (Mersey) come and install a furnace on January 4, 2018. Neither Ingersoll Rand, the manufacturer of Trane nor the installer, Toronto Home Comfort have shown any willingness to compensate me for my loss. It was a very expensive mistake buying a Trane. Trane customer service sucks. They are very arrogant have built numerous Chinese walls and will not allow escalation. 0 Every time I called them for help, they did not want to know. instead they gave me telephone numbers for local Trane dealers, which to me was shirking their responsibility. I am out of pocket to the tune of $7,000.

Many ppl leave bad reviews because they lacked the skills as a gas tech to know which parts you need. This location has always helped me in the past and got my parts within 48 hrs if not in stock. They are a parts supplier not a diy tech support for trane.
