★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been a painter for about 28 years, and we have been using Pepin paints at my current place of employment for many years. Paint quality is good, when we get a good batch sent to us, which is not always the case. Their batches of paint we get is never consistently the same. We've got batches that were low solids and high resins, making it transparent to spray with. We've had a batch that was full of cardboard fiber, which blocked our filters nicely. Our epoxy primers we get are also inconsistent, some batches are thick like molasses, where we add the appropriate amount of reducer to spray it with our paint system. Then there are batches where the viscosity is thinner than the normal batch, which requires less reducer and adjustment of our mixing regime. For 2 yrs now, we get our urethane topcoat with extra sag resistance added for our application and to speed up production. But for some reason, when placing an order for more paint, they sometimes forget to add the extra sag resistance. And their response is, "Well none of our other customers are having issues with that batch" They throw the painter under the bus to cover their own mistakes. Good Job!
