Nice cashier and good deals. 2.25 for (almost) everything at the store, and if you buy 10 things you get 1 item free.

Located at the P1 level of Pacific Mall, this Ichiban location actually spans two levels with a basement to the already at basement entrance. Rent must be cheaper this way. It's essentially a Japanese dollar store albeit the majority of their merchandise are made in China. Then again, what isn't? Decent selection of kitchen stuff, school stuff, all sorts of plastic houseware, knick knacks, etc. Itll be interesting to see how they compete against the proliferation of other Japanese dollar stores around the GTA like Miniso and Oomomo.

Small shop with a variety of cute items for $2 each. Love the chopsticks! FYI No credit cards. Cash only or debit accepted above $10.

A nice variety of useful items at this Japanese β€œdollar” store. Everything is $2.25. Lots of stationery, storage containers, some dishes, a lot of cleaning supplies (sponges, brushes, etc), kitchen utensils and kids toys. Would recommend!!

Last resort if I cannot find the items I'm looking for at The Best Shop located upstairs or at Dollarama. Last time I visited, I bought a small coloring book but found a larger one with more pages at Dollarama for 2-3 dollars cheaper. I agree with one of the review regarding items not labelled in English do sometimes you have to guess or skip the urge to buy. Item quality can be good or bad. They have tons of items displayed near the cashier (they don't put up a sign to direct you to the proper area where the line up starts) so it's tricky knowing where to line up especially when they didn't have the social distancing marks before despite last year's start of the pandemic. It's noticeable how they did the markings as if your traversing a maze to avoid bumping on the displays. Staff is a hit or miss. Pre pandemic and last year, we dealt with an accommodating, upbeat, and friendly sales person and cashier. My recent visit was manned by a lady cashier (which is in one of the photos) who seems to be in a bad mood (no smile, no thank you, no ounce of friendly customer service demeanor) and only got friendly with a guy who chatted with her in Mandarin/Cantonese. ??? Not sure if she's just naturally discriminating or just yearning for a male's attention.

you can find some unique products, reasonably good quality. Only issue, but A BIG ISSUE is there is no English descriptions of the products. For example I recently bought a pack of cleaning powders specific for stainless steel Thermos bottle (Product number C1549), there are description on the back of the pack in Japan language. No single word of English. If this store wants to thrive for long time in North America, and many countries there should be English translations in all the products.
