I've Been to Humber college of trades for full program, I had to buy books that WE, thew whole class NEVER even been asked to open. We had some great teachers like Mr Dave Alessandro who really tried hard to pass as much info as he can to the students, but then you have some teachers like Mr John Suriano who are a complete careless about the student, unclear and disorganized in their material, threat students that they would fail them, eat their lunch orbreakfast in front of the class while teaching, and late a lot to class. And then you have teachers who try to be "cool" so they won't give tests, play youtube videos the whole time and so on. Overall, there are good teachers, but also some very bad teachers at Humber college.

Woodworking instructors and technicians are amazing! Great tools, machines, and projects. Fun and safe environment to learn and ask questions.

Faculty are awesome. Taking the plumbing program currently - nice facilities, clean, lots of parking. Bus stop right across the road too...3 mins from the front door.

Taking the Electrical Pre-apprentice course these days, I had high hopes but I find the course disorganized and full of chaos. Humber divided the course into 8 to 9 subjects which should have really been 5. Mr Arvi Lattik ( teaching CEC and Prints ) has no clue of teaching, such a disorganized teacher , always behind the schedule, always in rush( because he has to go to a job after class and probably coming from one). He just kills time, talks about the 4 year factory job or his house 30-35% of the time. In my opinion he does not care if students can follow. His answer to every Question "everything is in the code book". He almost never demonstrate any concept or give examples and hardly use white board and/or marker , but read 2-3 lines from book, thats it!! Humber said there will be 2.5 months job placement after the completion of the course,,,, they lied( said they can only offer some help). Work placement coordinator has no background in trade, She is new , she has no real-world view of how things work in trade, She has no trade related experience to share, she does not know the work culture in trades ( all I hear her saying is " I will look into it , I will see what I can do, I yet have to find out etc. ). I see every questions and concerns of class being pushed to future class, and no solid answer in next class. HOWEVER, Teachers like Bryan and Carl are true trades persons. They both are absolutely wonderful at what they do, they take care of each and every students , you can ask as many questions and they will give a logical and meaningful answer. They both put every effort needed to help students succeed. Thanks Bryan and Carl.

Excellent teachers, excellent facilities, excellent students. If you are serious about learning a trade, you will gain highly valuable introductory experience in your field. Your teachers, as well as many of the other students, will feel just as much like your buddies at the local pub as they will feel like professional colleagues. Overall, a breath of fresh air relative to the main North Campus building.
