★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been with HSBC for about 8 years now and they're a decent bank. The tellers all know me & are always friendly & up for a laugh ? I've never once had to wait longer than 5 minutes in line to see a teller & they always handle my business quickly & efficiently.
The reason for my lower stars is solely due to the fact that they don't do visa debit & have stated that they have "no intention of making the switch in the foreseeable future". In today's age, online banking is a huge market and I can't buy anything unless I transfer money to PayPal, which is an annoying hassle that I don't want. I've been seriously considering switching banks solely for this reason. It's really unfortunate as I quite like my bank but they really need to adapt to today's age of banking & shopping. It's what their customers want & need. C'mon HSBC, it's time!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried opening a student chequing account online. Despite providing my student ID and all pertinent information it wouldn't let me and asked me to come into the branch. After waiting a good 20 minutes due to their understaffing, I presented my student ID and driver's license. I was told that they needed to book me in for another appointment on a different day and refused to accept what I was providing them.
All this hassle just to open a student account! Save your time and try a different bank.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I applied home equity three months before but still waiting for answers and I moved my mortgage to Hsbc six months ago, I was thinking to move everything from Td to Hsbc but now I changed my mind I won’t do that anymore,terrible service.
