LOVE this gym. Lots of equipment and weights. Fairly busy but you can always find space. Everyone is there to workout and be badass, I love it :)

I checked this out last week looking for a gym and a basketball court to use. I was really impressed with the facility and I look forward to getting a long-term membership. The girls at the counter were very informative friendly and also attractive.

The 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness at the University of Lethbridge is a comprehensive sport and recreation centre that features a fitness centre, climbing centre, aquatic centre, recreation facility, sports stadium, a triple gymnasium, multipurpose studios and an indoor running track I haven’t used all their facilities but I have used the fitness centre, the aquatic centre, gymnasium and indoor track multiple times. The “Vita Sana” Fitness Centre is definitely my all-time favorite gym, it has a comprehensive assortment of equipment, is well organized and maintained, and the staff are well trained and qualified. Some gyms are bigger, have way more equipment that is more modern as well (like the gym I go to in Calgary), but bigger isn’t always better. At my usual gym things are always a mess; equipment is everywhere, people rarely wipe down machines after use and the staff rarely clean/maintain the gym. People at the Vita Sana Fitness Centre actually respect the gym and equipment, and they clean up after themselves. Plus the staff rarely clean/maintain the gym. Not only that, but their desk is right on the floor and they’re always willing to help or give advice, and they’re qualified to it! Although they don’t have the best and brightest equipment their balance with the facility itself and the staff make them the best gym I’ve been to. There are term locker rentals as well, which eliminates the need to lug around your gear all the time. There are towel rentals and guest lockers as well. Prices are affordable with discount for students, alumni, family, other post-secondary, youth and senior. You have to pay for parking but evenings and weekends are free, and a parking pass is included with full-time membership. It can definitely get busy at times, but there are also a lot of downtimes. One thing I really enjoy is how seamless it is to expand your workout to other areas of the Centre. The indoor track is right above the gym and includes its own cardio equipment. The gymnasium is immediately next to it as is one of the multi-purpose studios and the climbing wall. You can also rent equipment like balls or rackets from the front desk. The aquatic facility is linked to the same locker room as the gym as well, so going from one to the other is effortless! There is also a sauna to relax in. They University of Lethbridge’s Sport & Wellness centre is your one-stop shop for recreation! It’s a great place to get in a workout, play some sports or team games and unwind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone :), cheers!

I went to the gym after the online schedule said that two gyms were reserved for badminton. Once I got there, they changed the schedule so that only half of a gym was reserved. However, I still paid the entrance fee, as I drove across town to play. Once I got to the gym there was a line of people waiting to use the badminton courts. I then asked for a refund because I had been there for less then 15 minutes. Mike at the counter blatantly said he would not allow a refund, as he told me there was half a court open. But, he knew that multiple nets were outstanding and didn't tell me before I paid. So I don't understand, its a public facility, that I didn't get to use because of the incompetence of staff to change the online schedule after the "white board schedule" gets changed, yet I'm absolutely not allowed a refund? I hope my 9.75 is enough to keep you guys afloat as a business.

This place is good, the equipment is maybe 20 years old by now or more but it works, they have a pretty good selection. Biggest problem are the body builders who appropriate the chest press benches, go for a walk talk to their friends while other people wait, 30 minutes sometimes during peak hours for a bench to clear up. This gym also has a pool which is maintained properly. Reasonable pricing, I'd say this gym is the cheapest in the area; 10 tickets cost somewhere in the $60 range with a student card in 2019. They don't have free wallet lockers which is a disappointment but they cost a quarter per use which is not bad.

It is too small of a space for the number of students & public members who access it. More than 85% of the time there is not enough equipment (as it is being used)… the staff are okay…. It’s pretty clean… the locker rooms are a good size… old school equipment which is kind of cool (reminds me old school bodybuilder gyms) It is a FAIRLY judgmental environment, which I know they’re trying to work on… but it is what it is! If you can just stick to yourself … you’ll be ok. Don’t forget the average age here is like 21-23! It’s definitely a good price, as a student. Would NOT recommend paying as a member of the public - there are better places around Lethbridge than the university gym!! I am a member. I will continue to be member - strictly because I am a current UofL student. But won’t be returning after December.

The facility and surrounding area was beautiful. I loved the free parking on Saturday. We had a difficult time getting all of our mats and equipment into the gym so it took a very long time to set up.
