S	Shirley Janzeneen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These housing units are placed in the most polluted, noisy locations. Clearly Horizon housing just wants to make money off of the mentally ill. I lived at Alice Bissett place and had to leave because the building was constantly overheated in the summer, over 33C, if you opened your windows you couldn't sleep from the noise from the CP railyard, and the stench of the diesel in the air, made this place a very bad experience. The management was bad too, they were more acting like social workers then people who are supposed to keep the place clean and proper,. Don't move here, rent is overpriced for a 365 sq. feet bachelor you pay $750, you pay half and the city pays half. And HH is laughing making big bucks from the poorest people in our society!
T	TJR Pi Wingert on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heritage Gardens was crime ridden, and people were prone to be: drunk/stoned, loud, and I was regularly approached by people who offered me drugs. Also had a pimp ask me to deliver a cell phone to a woman in the building. Managers of the building were oblivious, but they may have actually been complicit about the crime in the building. I moved out after crackheads began fighting in the halls on a regular basis. Horizon Housing was negligent, and refused to negotiate with clients about rent, or health accommodations.
R	Robert Patrick on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lived with Horizon Housing. It was great in my time of need. The building are well maintained and the staff was wonderful to work with. Any problems were rectified quickly and thoroughly. My rent was 1/3rd my income so I only paid $520.00 per month for my Bachelor Suite. Perfect size for one person. As for other reviews, you just can't please some people. Horizon is wonderful!!!

Former owner had a Manager who was neglectful and there was "teething" pains when Horizon came but with tenant and owner work there has been amazing improvements. Managers are aware of concerns and do what they can legally do...working also with support agencies. Police can and are called in and this is with tenant calling them. This building is a "society" on its own and has a sample of what is out in society. Please work with Management and you will see amazing results....Take care.

The model that Horizon Housing subscribes to is such that the tenant, the landlord and the partner agency are treated as equals to ensure a successful relationship. The results of this foundation can be seen in the seemingly small, everyday successes achieved by individuals in need. The idea of home as a safe and secure place, where you can create meaningful connections with people is made into a reality for many by the kindness and competency of the Horizon Housing staff. An action as small as using your own key to open the door to your space for many has made all the difference in their lives. The difference between a life spent wondering where they will sleep each night, to knowing they can work toward a future for themselves. Not only do the Horizon Housing staff take care of the everyday building operations, freeing up URSA employees to focus on rehabilitation skills, but they watch out for their tenants like family. Everyday URSA watches our tenants open the doors to not only their apartment, but to future successes in their lives. Thank you Horizon Housing Society for making successes that seemed impossible a reality!

But once they sold the building to Horizon Housing it's gone straight downhill! Cops are here lole every 2 days because people are screaming and yelling and throwing things! Someone had their apartment broken into and all his stuff got stolen. They've changed my rent from $850 a month to $1130 and theres no way my 1 bedroom apartment with no renovations done my bathroom light hasn't been fixed, I've been stuck using a lamp for 4 months in my bathroom. The landlord takes almost a month to contact you back!

The maintenance man was yelling at the poor cleaning lady because she didn't do what he wanted first. He told her to quit her job and her job is to follow orders and nothing else. She just wanted to do her. This is how the staff is treated in horizon house.
