About The Kahanoff Centre for Charitable Activities

The Kahanoff Centre for Charitable Activities (“KCCA”) is a unique building that offers affordable office and meeting space to Charitable and Non-Profit organizations. Our inspiring atmosphere will enable your team to connect and share ideas with other tenants. We value innovation and look to provide opportunities for your organization to catalyze change.

In 1979, Sydney Kahanoff (1922-1980), an oil and gas entrepreneur and philanthropist, established and endowed The Kahanoff Foundation with a mandate to encourage innovation in communities in Canada and Israel. Syd’s wife, Fern Kahanoff (1928-1990), added to the endowment and translated their vision into wide-ranging funding and enabling of community initiatives, institutions, and organization. Syd and
Fern Kahanoff’s legacy has indelibly permeated every area of the Calgary community. The KCCA was created as a hub for Calgary’s charitable organizations through provision of accessible office and meeting space.

In 2012, the KCCA partnered with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (“DJD”) to add expand the KCCA by adding a second tower on the east side of the existing building. The expansion was completed in 2016 and included the new DJD Dance Centre that has seven dance studios, and office space on the upper six floors rented to charities and non-profit organizations.

The Kahanoff Foundation leaves the KCCA as a lasting expression of Syd and Fern’s commitment to the community’s well-being and creativity.

Neat architecture. Nice conference rooms. Friendly security guard. Had a swell experience here from a training course hosted at this location. Neat place.

The centre was clean, and well organized with wonderful windows. Only issue was finding stairs to come up to the second floor, as it really shouldn't be necessary to have to take the elevator.

Had a international video conference booked two times. All sorts of issues with connecting to video. First time nothing occurred so had to book another time. The staff tried their best ended up with just a conference call. Disappointing first time second time frustrated that details did not get sorted out to have the video conferencr which was very important.??

We reserved a conference room for 25 - 30 partipants. Catering was ordered from Sunterra, one block away. Successful outcome: the meeting room was very functional and communication was easy for the speakers even without a microphone. Our conference was set in the evening after 6 pm which made parking in the streets around the Kahanoff Centre free of charge

It's a nice place but it's downtown so parking is expensive before 6pm. It's also kind of confusing to know where to park if you do go after 6pm. The directions MAPS gave me to get there were really off and all over the place. I think getting there would have been more pleasant had the directions been better!

Great venue for meetings. Friendly staff and ideal downtown location. Parking can be tricky and expensive, but if you arrive early you will find a place. Beautiful, clean, modern venue with nice views inside the city.

Attended a roundtable meeting here with the Catalyst Group. I was impressed with the beautiful conference space, very clean and modern. Pay parking is located behind the building. Definitely eyeing this as a possible space to host something for our non-profit in the future. They have spaces that can accommodate different group sizes.
