★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The waiting times in the emergency room are ridiculous here. I came at 17h00 and it is now almost 02h00 of the next day and I haven’t seen a doctor yet. I left without seeing a doctor after wasting 9 hours (!).
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The order at which they do things is very inefficient. I would be out of ER in an hour if that would be in the states, but here...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's hard to rate a hospital.. there's multiple departments and some are stellar while some have issues.
The imaging/radiology department's reception handlers are poor.. twice they didn't call us, we missed the first echo of my first daughter, they eventually brought us in only to realise there was a mistake when admitting us, and they wouldn't do the echo, massive waste of time and emotional rollercoaster for our first baby.
Second baby, they again didnt call us for an echo when baby was past due, we called and had to get it sorted with the maternal ward... which brings us to them
The Maternity ward: Absolute gem, the best doctors, nurses and caregivers ever, they are the best people in the world and they will make you fell so welcomed and give a care that is out of this world. They promote and give advice on proper breastfeeding techniques. I cannot rate them high enough, all my love to that department, sincerely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On my last tree planting expedition up north(st agathe camping ground), I came across a pack of black bear cubs. I started feeding them strawberries from my farm and they were so joyful and cute. That is until their mom came along. She attacked me with her enormous paws and left marks across my face and my chest. I did not have my phone so I crawled along the 329. After completing my 3.3km journey, I got to the Laurentien Hospital. I was so relieved. It only took me 3 hours but I made it.
When I walked in, it didn't seem too busy. I got checked in and was told that it wouldn't be too long. Hearing that was great news, because well, I had a hole in my upper body and the sooner it was sewed up the better. I ended up waiting 10 hours, I'm surprised I didn't bleed out. What a horrible experience. The next time I'm attacked by a bear, I think I'm just going to go home and sew myself up.
The people here made me lose my patience and I plant trees for a living. I think I'm the most patient person in the world as it takes over 10 years for trees to have an actual impact.
Whatever you do, don't come here, you're better off driving to a place that will provide you with proper medical attention.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got there on Friday Dec 09 at 07h20, there were just a few people waiting. A lady told me she was there since 06h00 without having been seen yet. However, as far as I am concerned I got welcomed right away, they made my hospital card and was assigned an emergency code at the evaluation. During the time I was there up until about 08h30, things didn't move at all in the waiting room probably because 2 ambulances showed up during that time. However, as soon as the regular day shift started at 08h00, things started to move. The persons in front of me were called in and at 09h20, I was out with my diagnosis and prescription. The doctor and all the personnel were very nice and helpful so I have nothing negative to say about my experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible hospital. More security than nurses, infinite wait times and understaffed. Didn’t take my partners urgent condition seriously at all. After waiting forever we asked if we could have an appointment the following day and the nurse ‘forgot his password’ and couldn’t book us one. Opted to just drive to Montreal and get treatment there. If you’re in the area just spend the extra hour to go to a proper hospital further south.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give no stars I would. This hospital, if I should even call it that, was the most unhelpful, uncaring, racist and xenophobic hospital I had the displeasure of experiencing. I was visiting Quebec from Ontario and had excruciating pain in my stomach. I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital and after waiting for 10+ hours in the waiting room, the doctor on site, who has still not yet seen me told me and I QUOTE, "If you don't like the wait here, go back to Ontario this is how we do it here. After I told her to give me my blood work results so I can leave and asked her to get a nurse to remove the IV needle off my arm- she said "the nurses are all busy, if you want to leave take the needle out yourself." For those wondering who is doctor is her name is Dr. Hugo Basse - I will filing an official complaint to Collège des médecins du Québec to ensure this disgusting so called doctor never sees the day where she can practice again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best team possible in the intensive care unit with well trained staff that deserve full recognition. Each and everyone of them show empathy and patience with their patients and their related parties. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of their services. A true professional team. I imagine that negative reviews given by other parties must have been prior to November 2020. Congratulations to the intensive care unit team and keep up the good work. Also merci beaucoup Alexandre and Annabelle for your care ( Ambulance Paremedics) during the ride from Mont Tremblant to Hopital Laurentian. BRAVO!
