Staff were rude to patients who wanted to ask questions, staff seemed annoyed with them. Arrived at 8pm, didn’t leave until 4am. Only received x-rays and a boot for a broken ankle and finally got sent to RUH. Better and quicker care at RUH.

Want a great customer experience? Break your thumb! An innocent follow-through on a shot, in my hockey game last night, caught my thumb and split the bone. (note to self: Do not play an extra period with possible broken thumb next time). Of course it was a really late game, and I did not get out of emergency until around 2AM, but here's there amazing part ... I went to St. Paul's in town here. The interior of the hospital is dingy, dark and hasn't been updated in decades. I walked in not expecting great customer service. Especially because we are in the midst of new COVID issues. I was greeted politely at a screening area, asked to sanitize my hands and swap out my mask. A few questions, and I was in the queue with instructions that my "potential broken thumb" might take a back burner to other concerns. Fair enough. I sat down on a plastic chair, in a non-descript room with poor lighting. Almost immediately, a nurse met with me and gathered my info. Of course I forgot my wallet, but they accomodated me with my ID images on my phone. I apologized for using up their time for something as simple as this, but all clinics were closed. The nurse assured me it was fine, and they often helped with even less important issues. I was then ushered into another room, attended to by multiple doctors and nurses, politely asked questions and taken through tests, taken for x-rays, and eventually fitted with a splint when it was discovered the bone had broken right through. All of this happened over about a 2 hour period of time, and the entire time the staff were helpful, polite, and dealing with many other (more important) issues. The rooms were old, the equipment antiquated, the lighting only slightly better than candles, but I received the care I needed in a way that focused on customer satisfaction. I thanked everyone on my way out, and just imagined how difficult it would be to maintain a positive, service focused attitude in that environment. Especially, faced with some challenges of the day! If these health-workers can demonstrate customer obsession, I think that those of us working in vibrant spaces according to our own schedules should be able to raise the bar!! ?????? Thank you again St. Paul's Emergency staff. It means a lot! ?????? #healthcare #saskatoon #stpaulshospital

I couldn't say one good thing about St. Paul, I'm from moose jaw and I've never had such a bad experience with a hospital. My girlfriend has been feeling sick for 3 days and today I took her to the hospital due to a high fever and throwing up constant. Since I just moved here, I took her to the closest hospital.. and it was the worst hospital experience of my life. Constant beeping in the emergency, no proper waiting area. After waiting for someone to even be sitting down to screen you, you have to wait 10-20min. After you finally get screened, they make you wait for another 30 to 45 min, then you get questioned and wait another hour and a half.. I will stop here and tell you. These people don't care about their job. This is not emergencies to them, they have many students that dont know what's going on.. EVERYTHING'S UNORGANIZED. We went to Saskatoon hospital lot #6 and are immediately asked proper questions, things are organized, and people are willing to help instead of just stand around. Do not go to St. Paul

Reached there at 1:30am. I showed the nurse the video of my baby in which he was twitching and had very high fever. He is only 6 months old. It’s 4 am now and I am still waiting for the doctor to confirm if he is fine. I never ever had fast and satisfied experience with medical team of Saskatoon. Doctor knows that they will get paid no matter how fast or slow they work. Overally paid profession in Canada and still they don’t work. What’s the use of Emergency then ??? They should go and check out other countries to experience and understand the meaning of Emergency. Canada is way too behind in medical system and the way they are working, it will always going to be behind. I would rather book an appt with my family doctor instead of coming to emergency. Emergency is a joke here. In 3.5 hrs, I didn’t see any doctor coming ,where all other patients are waiting in emergency ward. Completely blizzard! Too frustrated!! And have lots to say to take out my vent being a worried mom.

There are some wonderful nurses who do their job admirably. However, there are a very few who can actually mean the difference between life and death. Lying about feeding a patient is not okay. We have witnesses and indisputable proof. When they are called on this behaviour, no matter how respectfully, they equate disagreement with disrespect and threaten to have family members escorted out for simply identifying the lies. Unacceptable. Make no mistake, a person's chance of survival in this hospital DEPENDS on family members actually doing the job the liars claim to have done.

I had to take an ambulance to St Paul's emergency for Atrial Fibrillation. They were extremely busy, and it took a long time to be looked after, which I understand. I got there at 7:30 pm, and didn't see a Dr until approximately 11 pm. Still understandable under the circumstances. The young female Dr who looked after me seemed very uncaring and treated me as if I was wasting their time. After the lab results came back, she told me that my potassium was low and provided me with a potassium drink. She did not provide me with a prescription for it, and when my pharmacy phoned this morning, she refused to provide them with a prescription. Everyone else I dealt with there was extremely kind.

I just want to give a big thank you to the Dr’s, Nursing staff, and everyone that assisted me during my stay. The care provide was amazing, I will never forget how awesome these folks are and thankful that they were there for myself when needed. I think everyone should take a second to appreciate all that these folks do for us everyday! Thank You!

I was at St. Paul’s Diagnostic Imaging Dept. today for a prostate ultrasound and biopsy. The staff were great - friendly, kind, professional, and caring. They really eased my mind and made the whole process a lot more tolerable. A special shout-out goes to Michelle and Wendy, two nurses who looked after me so thoughtfully throughout the pre- and post-procedure with kindness, patience, attention and humour. They attended equally well to the other gentlemen who were also there. That they can do this day in and day out with a smile and a cheery disposition is truly remarkable. I hope their supervisors are made aware of this review so they know and appreciate what an amazing job these two ladies are doing! Thanks Wendy and Michelle!
