★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hopes is a great store for a sweet small town, recently I had a dental work that was quite painful & their freezer had to be blocked off due to some issues & Phil (the owner) was So kind he went to the back of the store for me & came out with the ice cream I was hoping to buy.
Excellent customer service!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a nice little store! Great Deli and bakery with lots of selection. Well stocked and LCBO and Post office, makes this a one stop shop! We purchased our plants here too this year. Going strong. Will get them next year at this location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Way to expensive for regular everyday items, if you want a small town feel, head to burkes falls or back to Huntsville, for an extra 10 minutes drive either way, you will save a ton of money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I find most of the staff friendly and helpful. There are a few who go around and never smile or acknowledge you. It is a great little place to get everything. Today however, I came out to my car, and the guy from the gas bar was leaning against a post, watching me struggle with my oxygen tank and purse and trying to get my groceries in the back of my car. He was less than 10 ft away. Watched me the whole time. Most men would of offered to help, even most women would offer help. Not this lazy guy. Last time I gas up there just on principle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I shop here more than anywhere else. We are excellent customers, and have never shown anything less then extreme kindness and respect to the workers. Today I was having a bad day. and I looked it. The last thing I wanted to do was make a stop, but thought I’d be quick and get it over with. At the check out an older worker then accused me of being intoxicated, and refused me service. She made a scene for everyone around to witness. To say I was embarrassed is an understatement. I cannot even begin express how rude it is to judge someone by the way that they look. I am a well put together woman, who was clearly just having a bad day. I’m a good person, a good customer, and far from the type of person to get drunk BEFORE 10AM, and then DRIVE to the store. I am absolutely mind blown that I was treated this way. Beyond disrespectful, and beyond rude. I have always had the mentality of “who cares what other people think” but after this experience I will say it’ll be hard to continue that self confidence. I would say never shop here - but if you’re having a bad day you’ll probably get refused service anyways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoy this store. Ya it's a grocery store, ya it sells a lot of the same stuff you see everywhere. But this store still has its charm. Although very well stocked with grocery, deli and a good selection of alcohol it still has a very small town feel. The staff are friendly and quick to help. I never get the impression the staff don't want to be there.
Not much else around, and it's located right off the highway. If you need supplies for the cottage, this is a great stop.
