β β β β β Hope's first official off-leash dog park, right in the heart of town, next to the curling club, library, pool and recreation centre, skate park, ball fields, and minutes from the bike park. Central and easy access for tourists/travelers coming from the Hope Princeton Highway; a straight shot down 6th Avenue. A great, and safe play area for dogs to let off some energy after long car rides and a social gathering place for locals. There are lots of shops nearby to grab coffees, treats (Rolling Pin bakery, voted best bakery in Western Canada! ), snacks and more. This is a really wonderful space for dogs and their owners. Plenty of parking, two entry gates, drinking water for the dogs, waste bags, and public washrooms are located just outside the park gates.

β β β β β Basic park with water and a few benches lots of open space to run. A few holes from digging dogs and one set of gates are high off the ground a small dog could eacape from.

β β β β β Hope Brigade Days demolition derby was fantastic & the wood chop competition fun to watch. The stock car races the day before were also lots of fun. The amusement rides were good but expensive for 2 young kids. Might be the going rate, but our kids had just as much fun running in the skateboard bowls. The fireworks were excellent. Our 3 yr old daughter even wants to return next week.

β β β β β Great place to take your dog for a walk if you don't mind getting muddy. Many many hope residents use this dog park and it's a great place to socialize your dog. Usually between 1 and 3 is the busy time. Put some gravel down in the spring please!

β β β β β This is a great community addition. It was too bad the District made the users raise their own funds to build the fence. There was to be a recognition plaque/memorial plaque installed to recognize donors. That hadn't materialized in the years the park has been open. One lady kind of spearheaded the effort to have the park, and she should certainly be recognized.
The experience gained over the past few years shows that there is not too much maintenance done by the District. But a great group of volunteers seem to get things done. Kudos to them.
There is a great group of users who look after their dogs and see that everybody plays nice. It's up to individuals to recognize whether their dogs are too "over the top" for the group at the time, or too timid for those already there. I have admired those who remove their dogs in favour of the majority. Whether that be the very active, or the more sedate. It seems to work very well
"Waste" pickup seems to be well taken care of. In the time the park has been open, I rarely see any deposits that haven't been dealt with. Again, the great group that uses the park is not adverse to picking up the odd piece that escapes an owners scrutiny.
A very social place. For dogs, and for owners.
