★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went here expecting to be able to see the outside of the homestead, maybe get a peak through the window, but the inside is open for exploration! The homestead is beautiful and intriguing. There are some old furnishings and decorations, mainly in the kitchen. The upper floor is also quite neat. The hike there can be long or short depending on your preference! The long walk is gorgeous and includes a super cute creek and wetland with a boardwalk. The bugs are quite bad and you will definitely want bugspray. The turnoff and sign are not super obvious so pay close attention. The entire trail includes lots of informative signs about both the homestead and the current fortestry experiments being done.
