Overall, a fairly easy trail. Some parts might be flooded so you have to walk around trough the bush. The map of the trail is incorrect (original red) it extends further south (green) if you follow the trail signage, adding about 1.2km. Not sure if the original south end (in red) ever existed.

Very pleasant ride. Moderate difficulty. Watch for the trail signs or you could end up going down the skidoo trail. 5 stars if they replace the "no bikes" turned "bikes ok" by removing line through with proper bikes allowed sign ( looks more sun faded than modified).

A nice hike. Pretty easy and even terrain. Great for all skill levels and small kids. Be sure to go back to the parking area via the hiking only trail as it is a really nice hike and a change of scenery.

I hiked this trail on January 17, 2021. The trail formed a loop and you could choose to do a short loop (the self guiding trail) for 2.5 km or the longer loop for 4.5 km. The path was wide and followed along old logging roads for the most part, except for the final portion of the loop on the self guiding trail which was narrower and featured more ups and downs along the rocks. The entire trail led through the woods, and it was very pretty. You could tell that it had been groomed at some point so the snow wasn’t too deep and was mostly packed, but you could still have snowshoed it. I loved seeing the tall red pines along the way and the newer growth pine forests. Most of the trail was flat and easy except for the final portion which had some elevation changes. There are some higher points along the way which had nice views of the surrounding forest and snowy landscape. The trail was mostly flat and easy except for some ups and downs along the final part of the loop. The trail doesn’t have a specific destination or lead to any water features or lakes, but I enjoyed the peaceful wooded setting and there was hardly anyone there. There was a picnic table along the loop at a nice viewpoint which would be a good lunch spot. We also ended up exploring some of the lesser traveled side trails and logging roads (which are shown on the map) which was lots of fun and lengthened our hike to 8.5 km. The snow was definitely deep enough in these areas to snowshoe. The AllTrails map isn’t completely accurate (and it doesn’t show the return self guiding trail loop), as an FYI, but it’s hard to get lost and the trail is easy to follow and there is signage. There is a parking area where the snow has been cleared down ER 36. The trailhead starts from here and there are outhouses and a picnic shelter as well, along with group use areas with a fire pit. Great trail to explore and will definitely bring snowshoes next time!

The trails are very nice and a good workout I had a lot of fun going through the trails, but do not go alone, I made that mistake and the one time I did I got chased by 3 black bears for over 15 minutes before I made it back to my camp but other than that highly recommended!

Near Pine Point Rapids, which is much more popular. Good place to hike.

Beautiful forest, the trail is well marked but over grown in some areas.
