Excellent service for Canada Greener Homes and Efficiency NS rebates.

Over the past 5 years I have referred Homesol to hundreds homeowners and builders without a single complaint. Ross and Stephen are the most experienced in the region and highly recommend their services.

Stephen completed the assessment for smoke invading from my neighbor's home into my home. Stephen found the cause of the smoke invasion problem right away and was very professional about offering to stop the smoke test early since the problem was already found. We proceeding with the test because the neighbor did not believe that he was causing the problem. The smoke test confirmed that smoke was passing through the wall damaged wall.

I used homesol for my last home and plan to use them on my next. They were easy to deal with, punctual and prompt, and I received my refund within the time range they promised. They were thorough and provided recommendations without being pushy and were very competitively priced. Professional, easy and helpful - I highly recommend. I look forward to using Homesol again!

The home energy assessment consultant arrived to my home in a beat up sedan with no ladder. Once in the house, he asked me for a ladder to look into the attic from my main hallway. I asked him, "Is this absolutely necessary? The insulation in the attic was done by O'Reilly's last year and I have a receipt." He replied, "Yes, I have to see the thickness of the attic insulation to see that it was correctly installed." I said, "My wife and daughter have asthma. Are you sure this is absolutely necessary?" He proceeded to set up my ladder in the hallway and climbed up opening the access panel to the attic. A very large amount of cellulose blown insulation came down onto my hallway floor near two of my air returns and that's when he said, "Wow, if I knew that much insulation would come down I wouldn't have opened the hatch." I said, "Are you kidding me? You just told me you HAD TO open the hatch. Are you going to clean this mess up now?" He asked me for a vacuum. I said, "Don't you have one?" I gave him my shop vac and he quickly and briefly used the vacuum. You could see he was in a hurry to go to his next appointment. I ended up cleaning the whole ladder and wiping all the small fibers with a wet rag before my wife got back home with my daughter. Next, after performing his initial assessment and taking baseline readings we sat down to sign a large amount of paperwork that I was not made aware of earlier. Some of the forms authorized Homesol to share my assessment details with third party agencies. I did not want any of my personal information shared with any government agency, so I refused to sign those forms. He said he would let his boss know. A month later we had our new windows installed. I called Homesol back to let them know the windows were installed. That's when they told me they would not be back to complete my home energy assessment because I refused to sign some of the paperwork. They even mailed me back my cheque for the initial assessment. So now I cannot get my money back from the Green Ontario Fund in the form of rebates for the new energy efficient windows we had installed for more than $12,000. Thanks a lot Homesol! These guys are extremely unprofessional. They are very rude and crude. I would say find a reputable company that treats their customers with respect and completes the work they promise to do. Or you'll be out a lot of money as well.

Used homesol for energy assessment witch I paid for. Only used them as I needed a energy assessment for heat pump rebate. They knew exactly witch heat pump I was putting in as they where in contact with contractor. Turns out my unit didn’t qualify for rebate witch they knew and also knew I only wanted energy assessment for rebate. After being given the run around for months was told I didn’t qualify for rebate and was told “ must’ve been something that slipped through the cracks”. If I had of known heat pump unit didn’t qualify I wouldn’t of wasted my money or time on a assessment. Home sol did absolutely nothing in the end to make up for their mistake. Very dishonest bunch wouldn’t recommend. Obviously only wanted to take my money knowing I wouldn’t qualify.

Nova Scotia: If you've never had a home energy assessment done, DO IT! I used Homesol twice now for a home energy assessment. The technicians were very helpful and thorough and provided some tips and tricks for saving on home energy costs. They let me look through the thermal camera in a few spots to help me understand where my insulation was effective and how my home was working. The report the provide is very thorough and clear, and they helped me eventually get rebates from Efficiency NS for upgrades we did. I would (and have!) use them again.

As I work in the service industry, and have done for many years, I am all too aware that people are often further inclined to leave negative reviews rather than positive. As such, I make it a point to reward excellence when I cross it.
