We are horrified at the unprofessionalism of the appraiser named David. He was too frightened of puppies that he refused to get the job done. Perhaps you are in the wrong profession!! His refusal to work on the file caused serious contract disruptions for several parties. DO NOT USE this company if you wish to complete the requirements for your mortgage.

The owner said she would have to speak with David first before going forward. When I called her back after an hour her tone had changed. She said he was very upset and needed to cool down before he decided if he was to finish the appraisal. She was also very clear that she cannot force him to complete a task he isn't comfortable with. I agreed completly before asking if we could work together to have the information remaining sent to him. She stated he had already taken his exterior measurements and photos, so I asked if we were able to use the MLS photos of the inside so he doesnt have to face my dogs again? She then stated again he doesnt have to complete anything he doesn't want to. I asked is he not ethically or professionally bound to complete a file if he has everything he needs to submit a report? Especially because he doesn't need to return to my home? She said again she can't force him to complete anything he doesnt want to do and its up to him if he will continue. So I asked her if she could let us know his decision by the end of the day if he will complete it and she couldn't even agree to ask her own employee for a descision in a timely manner. There is now a new appraiser scheduled to come to my home 4 days from now. If you are looking for a company that can provide an appraiser on a power trip and potentially leaving you hanging in a time crunch for something as simple as barking dogs within a home, by golly this is the spot for you. My bank required an appraisal to estimate the amount of equity i have in my home, they enlisted Rivington Appraisers. Christine was the Appraiser who looked at my home, due to the pandemic they had changed protocol to only looking at the home from the outside but asked for pictures and detailed information about the interior, this was totally fine and I was happy to provide to the best of my abilities all the information she requested, it was also super helpful as I didn't need to miss any work to be there for her to walk around. The appraisal was accurate, Christine was professional and very easy to deal with. Thank you please keep up the great work.

I am in the process of moving my mortgage to a new bank. They requested an appraisal. They ended up with Rivington's who contacted me and asked me to take pictures, video, measurements and all sorts of other things. They would not come into the house to do the complete appraisal but expected their full fee. Since appraisers require a license and accept liability for the information used to provide the bank the appraised value, I was not willing to do half their work or accept the liability for the information used in their appraisal for the bank. BE CAREFUL DOING HALF THE WORK THEY REQUEST AND ADVISE YOUR MORTGAGE OFFICER IF YOU ARE BEING REQUESTED TO DO SO. They need to know what they are paying for and where the information is coming from.
