About Hogman's Custom Rods
Back in around 2011, I was looking for someone to do a decorative wrap on a fishing rod for me. It proved very difficult to find someone able to do it in Canada. So, I bought a book and decided to give it a try. I simply fell in love with doing the wraps and I soon ran out of fishing rods to do them on. The next logical step was to start making fishing rods, so I bought a book and learned how to do that with the help of many hours of Youtube videos, a couple of broken rod blanks and some help from some very dedicated people in the rod making community.
Many rods later and quite a few more discussions with some people who I have come to be friends with, Hogman's Custom Rods was born. I am grateful to all of the people who allow me to continue doing what I love. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the reaction to a vision that my clients finally see realized. That is why I do it!

In addition to the look, it is sensitive, well balanced and the grip fits comfortably in my hand. Just the right amount of flexibility allows me to have a smooth, accurate cast.

He taught me all the basics of the rod building and at the same time he nit-picked on the small details that I was missing which was exactly what I needed.
Ken is very experienced in the rod building and know every aspect of the trade. He answered all my questions and helped in tough spots while showing what exactly he was doing. I am totally satisficed with the time and money I've spent on his lesson it saved me hours and hundreds if not thousands of dollars in waisted materials, and time.
I am greatly recommend Ken to deal with any aspect related to rod building.
