With a lack of innovation in Sudbury’s fishing community, Brian Ramakko sought out to open a store that offered Sudbury the fishing worlds latest and greatest gadgets and gear. That was 1984. Fast forward to today, where Ramakko’s is now a 20,000 square foot outdoor specialty and safety supply store. We no longer only cater to the fishermen, we have experts suited to outfit you for any adventure. Whether you’re hiking the La Cloche Trails or climbing Kilimanjaro, our experts can suit you up no matter where in the world your adventure takes you. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ramakkos has lots of staff and each one has a good bit of knowledge. I appreciate that they carry quality gear. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that their prices are on the high side for similar items elsewhere. They are however, the only game in town for a lot of products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good store with a bit of everything. Prices are comparable with big box stores, but with better service. Bought a rifle, scope and left assembled and bore sighted in less than 40 minutes, pretty good. A little cramped, but in a cozy way. The older security guard following me around was a little weird, he’s not exactly covert in his operations, his profiling skills need a lot of work.

It was a knowledgeable British salesperson who knew the Camino that gave me wonderful advice and information about the factors I needed to consider in selecting the boots I used. The Keen Pyrenees hiking boots were the right weight, sturdiness and durability needed for the Camino. The salesperson knowing the trail and the product was so significant in making the decision. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A buddy was passing through Sudbury and dropped in and while there picked up a few boxes of ammo he knew I was looking for. I get that ammunition is getting scarce, but marking up inventory already out for sale seems quite unfair. Check under those stickers before buying folks if you see them layered up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Something for absolutely everyone regardless of gender or age. I haven't been to this store in many years. It's out of my way but I decided to take a ride out to look at snow machine sleighs. The ride was worth it. One of the best shopping experiences I have had in years. The store was packed and still an employee took 30 seconds from serving someone else (without me asking) to give me the quick run down on the sleigh I was looking at. After I was done looking around he brought me to the cash where I paid and then sent me around to their shipping door. The cashier and the lady who helped me load up the sleigh in shipping we're also very pleasant and happy. Prices are on the higher end but the products are not imported junk.
