The trails are maintained very well. We did the long snowshoe trail (around 5-6 km) and it was wonderful. It is worth to try it.

This is a must visit place in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. If you only do ONE thing in this city, make it seeing rhe waterfalls and walking a trail or two. They have beginners hiking trails, bike trails and more. All the way up to expert and difficult trails.rhey have a park for the kids and in winter cross country skiing! Seriously a must visit. I love this place

Best part of the Soo I've been going to Hiawatha since I was about 4 years old when my dad would take my sister and I there to play in the park. Soon after we were heading there in the winter to learn to cross-country ski. Later on we were going up there to swim and jump off the falls (no one does it anymore) with our friends. To this day I am at Hiawatha about 3 times a week (summer and winter) to take my dog for hikes or snowshoeing. The park is encompasses a huge area and is a great example of nature's beauty during all seasons in Northern Ontario. In the summer many go to walk the trails in amongst the tall red pines or to visit the 2 sets of falls on the crystal creek. Mountain biking has become quite popular and there is now a good number of trails to choose from. In the fall the changing of the leaves is spectacular and with the leaves off the trees there a few nice vantage points to view the entire city. During the winter the park offers several well-groomed cross country ski trails of varying lengths and degrees of difficult. There is even a 2km lighted trail that is perfect for those learning to ski and who want to go at night. There is also snowshoe trails and trails that you can walk on since they are so packed down. Just north of the park at the end of the Connor road is perfect place to bring your dog to run on the snow packed trails. All in all the park has a lot to offer for local and visitors alike - be sure to visit!

Been about 10 years since my last visit which always reminds me of being a kid in the 70’s and there was a dock with lifeguards and a picnic area up top along with a playground

Beautiful park where you can do all kinds of activities. Biking, running, skiing or just a nice walk with the dogs.

Very nice trails, we were walking but the mountain bike trails looked fun aswell. If you park down near the creek the falls are probably just a few hundred metres across the metal single lane bridge to the North. Mind where you place your feet going up the West side of the falls, rocks and roots, but most of the trails are very easy going. We were there in Sept 25, leaves were just turning and zero bugs, perfect timing in my opinion.

Pinder 2km trail - packed down. Surprisingly as high trafficked we didn’t see many people on the trails. Beautiful forest

Went in early spring time and the trails are still snowy, but the water fall is in full force. Great easy trails.
