J & J Takeout opened on November 20th 2017. We’re a family owned business that serves authentic Chinese recipes with no MSG. We offer a variety of dishes from different regions, specifically from Taiwan. Mixing in different flavours ranging from spice to sweet, we are sure that you will find something that delights your palate. We believe that Chinese food does not have to be laced with MSG and we prove that through our interpretations of classic dishes and the quality of our meals.
If you have dietary restrictions or would like to add more vegetables, meat or whatever it is, we will try our best to accommodate you. Real Chinese food is about sharing and it is our way to bring people together and share joy. Come see us! We cannot wait to meet you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently moved into the apartment complex next door to this establishment. My first day moving in, I had been living in a hotel and had a ton of backed up laundry that needed to be done. My building has laundry machines that take loonies only. I went to exchange money for loonies and was met with a whiney and confrontational business owner. Jim as he is referred to as by his regulars believes it okay to treat his customers next door as if they are doing him wrong by asking for an exchange of dollar values, even when they are spending $4.00 on one 2L of Coca-Cola. I have been whined at now twice about how everyone from Chinook 3 comes for loonies and wonder why he doesn't just put some action in place to be a better service for the community. It is my opinion that Jim does not operate his business with the community in mind and simply wants to operate on a selfish and purely capitalistic platform. For this I will not be supporting this business and advise other members of Chinook 3 and surrounding community to stay away and let this business die out. Someone with a more community oriented business model would serve us better. Hands down.

Overall its a cute little store. A lot of people mentioned to me that they liked their icecream although I've never personally had it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Myself and other half are visiting a friend here in Strathmore, not too far from this gem. From the first trip, to ever single one after that I have been more than happy. Every employee deserves recognition for being incredible humans. They are always in good spirits and are genuinely happy. Which must be easier when you have a boss who is just as wonderful and kind. They have a nice little restaurant within the store, Chinese food that’s homemade and could do circles around most Chinese restaurants. After the lunch specials are over, they do one person portions of what is left. $4 of deliciousness. The one thing most can agree on is Chinese food reheated is absolutely awful, until I found this restaurant. It’s so good and If I could I would give it more than 5 stars. It’s places like this, people like him that give me hope for humanity. Where kindness still reigns over hatred and greed. This is one of those places that should be gone to more than any life the stupid chain gas stations. A business worth keeping from being closed.
