This place is good but few things need improvements, Gates are a good idea so kids can't run into MARINE DRIVE AND LLOYD...also there are not enough Swings for that many kids...however the place has a good sitting area, convenient location and the little Creek is a good choice for fun summer days...

My daughter (8) loves this playground, unique play features, as well as a zipline and play structures. Also a really large sandbox. There is also space for setting up a picnic and washroom facilities, so you can plan to take your time here.

Awesome playground with a zipline. Washroom facilities. Salmon hatchery too! A great place to explore. The recent restoration projects are awesome.

Natural water park, bring your buckets and water toys. Really great for little kids and clean washrooms. For the older kids bring their science kits to explore the woods and the creek while eating the berries they find on the trails.... nice clean washrooms, not too much space for biking although good enough for the little ones.

Eric Lee at the North Van branch was very prompt and diligent with my renewal, even though I had forgotten to get back to him a few times. He even reached out again 3 days before my coverage was about to expire, which was very helpful. Thanks Eric.

Really enjoyable park. There's something for everyone. Kid's playground is nicely integrated with surroundings, and incorporates more natural materials and uses enough open ended props to encourage imaginative play. The proximity of the salmon hatchery and accessible stream are a favourite of all the children. Good segregation of playground from the park trails and areas with heavier dog (often unleashed) traffic. Trails are moderately hilly with lots of scenic flat bits that run adjacent to the creek. Barred Owls, Northern Flickers, Herons, Pileated Woodpeckers, eagles are common sightings. It's a really great loop for young kids learning to hike - totally doable, but with some challenging bits for little legs, and doesn't feel like you're in the middle of a city when you're in it. Our only complaint is that the lack of enforcement of non-compliant off-leash dogs (often not under control, often trampling the environmentally sensitive areas, salmon-bearing streams, and leaving un-retrieved poop along the trails). Perhaps better placement of the poop bag dispenser closer to the poop bin, and maybe even a small, fenced in off-leash dog area on the open field, away from the creek could help curb the behavior. Also, seasonal spraying of "Round-Up"/glyphosphate (a known carcinogen) to target non-native Japanese Knotweed throughout the park often includes areas adjacent to the playground and creek that are high traffic areas for exploring kids, and could use additional fencing during treatment times to reduce the risk of exposure. All in all a great space, and would give it 5 stars if the off-leash dog issues were addressed and the risk for glyphosphate exposure mitigated (beyond simply posting a small sign warning of herbicide use as many users of the park are not familiar with the scientific terminologies used on the sign and do not fully realize the potential harm to their children or even pets for that matter).
