Do not book from Hertz, they have hidden fees and will charge you additional 25% on arrival. I booked on Hotwire and they charged me additional fees and provided no assistance in dealing with Hotwire or any explanation. Use another rental agency at the airport. If you are booking for many days, this is a huge hidden cost!

Great staff at the depot, seamless pick up etc Reason for 3 stars is strictly due to incredibly rude emergency roadside assistance call center employees. They are based in the states for sure and lack phone etiquette along with empathy especially dealing with people in roadside emergency situations. Hung up on me numerous times or stated their system was down and to try calling back to see if another agent can help me

I understand that times get busy, but I was told it would be a 1/2 hour wait, and ended up being 2 1/2 hours. Also, couldn't leave the area or we'd lose our place. Would be better to have accurate wait times, regardless how long, so we can plan accordingly. Also, a phone call would be ideal versus everyone crowding in the small waiting area. Drop off was easy.

Fast efficient polite and super accommodating made my trip visiting my son that much more enjoyable. Counter staff was amazing , switched me into a better vehicle for my needs and needing to extend my rental was super easy. Drop off was super smooth as well Will definitely use Herts Vancouver airport again.

The minivan worked well, very clean, no smell, and no breakdowns or issues. The staff were super friendly, both the issuing lady and the receiving personal. The child carseat buckles could be cleaned better.

Our original flight from Toronto to Vancouver was booked for January 17th morning. We then were supposed to pick our rental in the morning from Hertz located at Vancouver International Airport. Due to the winter storm in Toronto our flight was delayed several times. I emailed hertz many times to update the team on the situation. We ended up leaving Toronto Airport January 17th 9pm. We got to Vancouver for 1 am January 18th. Like I was saying we asked Hertz to please wait till we get there as this was the only ride we had. We got to the Hertz main desk and no one was to be found. Many others came there to pick up their vehicles and we were stranded. We waited till 6am January 18th at the airport. We went to the Hertz desk for 6am and were met by a employee. She was extremely rude. She tried to sell us insurance even though we had it, she also told us to get winter tires for $20 per day. Aren’t winter tires supposed to be on rentals bylaw in winter? My sister had booked the appointment and when talking to the employee she told me she wanted to only talk to my sister. Was very disappointed that we were treated like this. If possible I would not even give them any stars.

Customer service is brutal. They make you agree there are no issues with the condition of the car before you leave the desk. You sign away and then it’s your responsibility on YOUR OWN that it’s in the condition they say. The parkade is very dark, be aware. We drove away and got over the bridge in busy hectic traffic and noticed a small crack in the windshield. We called customer service immediately and after being disconnected twice we finally spoke to someone in the USA. We told the person what was happening and was promised it would be documented on our file. We were also told as ling as the crack wasn’t impeding our vision we would be ok. When we returned the car we wanted to ensure this crack was noticed by the person checking in the car so it wasn’t missed and it happened to the next person. We then had to fill out the paperwork with the staff and that was brutal. From the tone Shelly gave us or I should say the attitude given in regards to finding our voice recording about our call to customer service was awful. So! After speaking with customer service our call wasn’t documented on our file! Never again will I use Hertz!

I pre-booked the car online a week ago but when I went there to pickup a car they told me that they don’t have it and they gave it to someone else since it’s first come first serve. After that they gave me BMW and they didn’t let me know that it takes premium fuel on the top of that they informed me that it has all the safety features and adaptive cruise control and it had nothing WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! They didn’t even gave me any compensation I was getting late for my flight so I left but DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
