We rented a car on May 18th, 2018 for the Victoria Day long weekend. The staff at Hertz gave my boyfriend the worst customer service. At first they said they didn’t have a Toyota Camry for us which was fine. My boyfriend got into the Chevy Malibu and it stunk of CIGARETTES! He immediately alerted one of the attendants. The attendant said it didn’t stink. After a long exchange Hertz offered us the Camry that they said they didn’t have at the start! Returning the car was another ordeal. We were told there was shuttle service after returning the car when we picked it up. It was a different story after the return. Shuttle service was only for the Lexus dealership! That’s very misleading. The overall attitude of this Hertz location is complete garbage. We have rented from many other rental car companies that gave us exceptional customer service. This will be the first and last time we are renting from Hertz.

From the reservation, is the very un-pleasant experience with them. If they don't want to rent the car cheap in the any of third party website, they can just stop it. I don't care. This is not good company any way. But the time for the renting the car is not posted in the reservation. I checked it specifically before I pick the car, but I just can allocate my 30 seconds of time on that. 30 seconds end, I didn't see the time to pick up the car. Then, that's it. You don't list it appropriately. I am busy and I have other things to do. If you are not able to list the basic information in the most easy to see places for the reservation. and for the price is go by CAD $ OR USD $. Then, if you don't want to rent the car, you just close. This's not a good company. Then, the male staff was rude and ask me why I didn't see the time, then said listed there, there. Ok, then he was asking me too many and too many times of my driver license. Sorry, I really don't know what Hertz want to do, and then computer system is going down and let me either wait or give him all of my driver license and Visa personally for what???? anyway, I wanted to pick up my car at 11:00 am something, but I got it at noon, "at noon"!!!! That's really bad luck!!!!!! Not good experience with Hertz and with this kind of staff so far or before, Maybe ??? !!!!

Whenever I am in need of a rental, I always make sure to stop by Hertz at Don Valley North Lexus. Staff there have always been super helpful, and super friendly. Whenever I run into problems, they always seem to have an answer that will help fix the situation. I will continue to pay them a visit, and I'm always thankful for their kindness.

My partner and I rented a car from this location online from the official Hertz website. They they called us to tell us they had no vehicles available, and had to cancel our reservation when we were on our way to pick up the vehicle. We had booked the car through the Hertz website, so if they had no vehicles available, the reservation should not have gone through at all. Highly unprofessional to cancel our reservation right before we're about to pick it up, and inconvenienced our entire trip because then we were without a rental, and had to look for another one. My partner even offered to call up another Hertz location to see if they had cars available, and suggested they try to get a car from another location. The employee on the phone was highly unprofessional and refused to accommodate us in any way. Very dissatisfied with this entire experience and will not be booking with this unreliable location again.

Dishonest unprofessional, disappointing for such a large chain. Charged me extras, 4hrs before the return, said I was late in returning, even though I was 30 mins or so early. They apologized for the mistake ve their Montreal office, and said I would be copied into emails for refund. Never seen these emails. After several emails and complaints, they are now telling me the extra charge is because I returned it on low fuel…. I filled up the car at a gas station 4 mins down the road before return. More amazingly is the staff knew I would be returning the car with β€˜less fuel’ 3 hrs before I returned the car. Is this how Hertz conducts business at all their chains?

We booked a minivan for our trip. Van is clean and problem free. It is quite new also. My son left his scarf in the minivan upon return of the vehicle, and the staff was very helpful and kept it aside for us to pick up a week later.
