Heroes & Villains was founded in 2009 on the principles of quality work in a laid-back environment. We love to have a good time! We provide custom tattoos by a number of different, talented artists, all with diverse art styles to suit any of your tattoo desires. We offer American traditional, black and grey realism, black work, new school, just about anything you can think of! Tattoo consultations are always free. All of our piercings are done with beautiful, safe implant grade jewelry. We have the most experienced body piercer, with over 24 years experience. We also offer scarification, magnetic vision, and are happy to help design & order custom body jewelry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dan did both my septum and nostril (months apart). I am very prone to hyperpigmented and keloid scarring, but as you can see from my added photo I have had zero issues. I never once even got the dreaded "nostril bumb" when switching out to a hoop because my original piercing was done expertly, care instructions were clear and minimal, and metal used was ideal for safe healing. I cannot say enough good things about Dan and this shop. Literally the only place I will ever go to get piercings moving forward. Lovely atmosphere. Best piercer in the city. 13/10 would recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got my rook pierced a few years ago and it never healed properly. Dan acted like he was the best in the city and when I first went back to him complaining about how it wasn't healing he just said that it was because I'm not drying it properly after my showers... I went to a different piercer to take a look at it and he explained how it was pierced wrong and now I have to let it heal and get it re-pierced in a few months.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was very enjoyable, and had a relaxed atmosphere. Dan was very friendly, and made the whole experience very comfortable! I absolutely love the industrial peircing I got. Dan gave me lots of tips and advice that help a bunch! 10/10, I would definitely go here again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got my nostril pierced there a couple hours ago and Dan was the very best ever!! He was so kind to me and my friends even though we were all very nervous about getting pierced. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we understood all of the aftercare requirements and we weren’t being taken advantage of. Dan made lots of jokes to make us feel comfortable and at ease, and made sure to ask me to come back in a couple weeks or months so he can check in on my piercing and make sure it’s okay. I really wish that I lived in Calgary because I don’t know how I can ever go to another piercing or tattoo shop. Thank you to Dan and Dana for their kindness and professionalism, love you guys very much and the next time I’m in Calgary I will probably be coming back here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually don't write reviews, but today I had my nostril pierced by Dan. I was very anxious to get a piercing on my face as I am someone with chronic tics, but he was very understanding and kind. I did go a year ago for the first time to change my jewelry, and while I see other reviews upset about a lecture I personally felt like this showed that the staff care and are knowledgeable about piercings. I will forever recommend this place for piercings in Calgary. There was a wait today but they were very apologetic and did their best to move along as quickly as possible. The jewelry is lovely, the shop is clean, and you will feel very comfortable getting pierced no matter how anxious you are.
