An easy hike for 30 minutes one way. The bunker itself is pretty cool. There was no light arrangement inside of it. So bring a flashlight. The view from the bunker to the lake is awesome.

Pretty cool and easy hike to get to. The bunker was a bit freaky ? but cool. Definitely need a headlamp or flashlight Esp if you want to venture into it.

This is a very cool, quite popular (considering there is no signage advertising ) trail to a piece of history. There is a small parking spot just off the highway that reduces the hike up to the bunker. Takes about 15 mins or so to get up. There is a few somewhat steep spots and trails that are close to steep drops you need to be careful of. Ideally bring a decent flashlight for inside, but a phone light will suffice in a pinch.

Great hike for everybody, including the family with kids. Hike west from the parking lot about 2 KM, stay left. There are Trans-Canada Trail markers along the way. There is a four-way trail intersection with a tiny yellow sign on the left that says "cave" (see my photos with post). The cave is deep enough that flashlights are needed to see and step carefully. It was made by blasting and excavating, so nothing really dangerous and no chance of getting lost. If you're into graffiti, you'll find plenty (though not the truly artistic kind). There's decent parking in the lot, plus bathrooms and a trailhead sign. If coming from the East (Calgary), just watch the road carefully as the turn-offs aren't as intuitive as you might expect and you could easily miss one and end up back on the other side of the highway instead of at the trailhead. Have fun!

This is a totally fun hike for kids! My kids had a blast inside of the cave. The trail does not have any interesting view but it is a short and easy one. We hiked with kids between 5 and 10 years old and they had so much fun inside of the cave. You have to park on the Heart Creek Trail BUT take the trail opposite to that one. You will see a Trans Canada Trail sign. Once in the trail, ALWAYS take the LEFT trail! Bring flashlight or Headlamp.

Our second time here. Short easy hike on a well maintained easy to follow trail. Bring a flashlight if you plan to visit inside. This is an unfinished storage bunker from the cold war era. Cool place to go for a short visit, not that much to see. We recorded 4.3K and 162M of elevation gain.

Kinda of a cool place to hike up to... Only about 20 minute walk from the parking lot. If you have a flashlight bring it. I saw several people trying to walk around with their cell phone light... It doesn't really cut it in there... Lol

This is a flat and easy short 4km hike (2km one direction) that will be good for families with young children. The trail itself is uneventful and bordering on boring, but the visit at the end to the bunker makes it a good bet. Be sure to take flashlights to explore, including the graffiti. The cave is not an extensive network, and is a single path for the most part with a few rooms along the way.
