★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful hearty trail with lots of trees as well as open spaces. Was pretty in winter and looking forward to seeing it in the other seasons!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The entrance at University is overgrown for the first 1km or so, if you are wearing shorts get ready for an itchy walk. The path itself varies from groomed west of the bridge to St Jacobs and East of the bridge to Waterloo is a winding trail through trees, along the river and even through a used cow's razing field. There are lots of horse droppings in this section, as it seems to be used as a horse path.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful, level trail that follows the river in beautiful St. Jacobs. We walked the trail from the Water St. Parking lot for about 45 minutes before turning around. Walked through st. Jacobs DT to the village biergarden down the street. Great walk (doesn't quite qualify as a hike over the first 5km) and nice town

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wide flat trail generally well groomed. Good for seniors strollers wheelchairs (to a point prior to the downhill portion)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Liked surrounding of this trail - it goes just a few feet from the old mill's water canal in first mile and then very near to Conestogo river, mostly it's in the shade with great variety of trees, grass, flowers, mushrooms and other plants. We saw on trail 2 roe deers only several feet away staring calmly at us. If you add great waterfall and picnic area at the starting point and attractive restaurants along the trail in St. Jacobs where is another big parking area (including campers and busses parking spots) then it was hard for me not to give it 5 stars, although this trail is mostly suited for families with kids and older people, without any slopes and hills what I really like.
