V	Vince Fiorilli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place seems to be okay except if you have to return a defective item. I went yesterday to return a defective smoke detector and they would not refund me. The person at the counter was very rude and arrogant. He did not even give me a chance to explain what the problem was. He took the unit and pressed the button and it made a sound. He threw the unit on the counter and told me it's working properly and would not refund it. When I finally got a chance to explain the problem - smoke detector will not trigger when a lot of smoke is present - he still would not refund my money. He said as far as he's concerned it works fine. After a lot of haggling I was finally able to exchange it for a more expensive one. This is the second time I had to return an item at the store. The first time it was a battery that was defective and they also did not want to refund me or exchange it. I will avoid the store and try to get my stuff at Walmart or Canadian Tire or another hardware store

C	Claudia Lauzon on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in tonight around 1630 to return 2 small items I purchased by mistake. Cashier #002 at cash 1 w/ black hair was very rude and lied to me and my husband. I go in to return the items, to which i have all the proper receipts for and she goes "Those aren't the right receipts, you need to go see your husband and ask him for the right receipt, I saw him yesterday." So, I politely tell her that those are the only receipts he gave me and that all the information is on both of the receipts. All she could tell me was "go see your husband".... hoping back in the car, I told him what happened and so he decided to go in and try to return the items. Cashier #002 straight up lied to his face and told him responses that I never said. She then proceeds to tell my husband to go to the back of the store, to the refund desk..... Why couldn't she have told me the same?? She literally denied my refund for no good reason. Never going back to this home hardware again. For everyone out here that reads this, please take the time and go to the Home Hardware in Vankleek hill to be treated like a real human being!!
