I happened upon this place by accident while talking the Pacific Creek Marine Rd. from Duncan.We spotted a sign the said point of interests,given it’s basically in the middle of no where,we had to stop and check it out.The Harris Creek Sitka spruce is about 4 meters 13 ft in diameter near Harris Creek.Not the largest on Vancouver Island it is easily accessible.The spruce has become famous.The tree is approximately 80 meters or 260 ft tall.
This area of the Pacific coast is considered rain forest and the climate is a lot of rain enabling growth of the trees to grow rapidly.Notice most of the trees have moss hanging flora that gives it a ear-a spooky look,especially when it’s blowing in the wind.
If you are driving the 255 km Pacific Marine Circle Tour on south Vancouver Island, a stop at the Harris Creek Sitka.If you haven’t driven this road check it out.I have driven this route many times because of it accessible to numerous other interesting places. Visit Port Renfrew and walk along the board walk pier.This time we started from Duncan and came out at Coldstream and back to the # 1 Highway.
Depending on your preference after Langford you have multiple choices for travel.Drive safe,have fun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a really neat park. Now the Google Map location is almost correct but if you still worry about it. There is a small BLUE sign shows "Point of interest 1km". When you drive from Lake cowichan, it will be on your right hand when you getting closer, don't miss it. It is 1km from this site.
