I found this business to be deceptive as they do not pre-authorize the insurance claim or warn you about this.
S	Stephen Craig on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a routine tooth extraction went wrong with another dental office,I was referred to Dr. Sowden for emergency surgery. This of course was my absolute worst fear come true so you can imagine the state of mind I was in having to be rushed to surgery. Unfortunately because I was under anaesthetic for so long at the other office, I had to wait until the next day before Dr.Sowden could do anything for me. He and his team are very compassionate and reassuring taking the time to walk me through the whole process. The next day I arrive for my appointment where again I was again explained the process of what to expect before and after the surgery. I opt to be put under local anaesthetic to spar myself and the staff any extra stress. When I woke up, the surgery was over and i was feeling no pain. Dr.Snowden called me personally the next day to check on me and to explain the procedure I just had. He really does go the extra mile for his patients and I am forever grateful to him at his staff. I would highly recommend and do refer friends and family to him often. Thank very much your help Sir! The only reason you're not getting six stars is because there was no option.
T	Tony Herunter on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NO STARS - This guy is a scammer. Dr. Sowden and his staff insisted that my daughter get a $500 cat scan done prior to removing her wisdom teeth. We went to a dental surgeon in Port Coquitlam and he said the CT scan was totally unnecessary for a person of her age (under 25). It seemed Dr. Sowden and the person operating the cat scan clinic were working together with some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement. The kicker is the the other dental surgeon was just about half the price for exactly the same service. Please get a second opinion before you give this guy your money.
M	Michael Jarosz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came to Dr. Sowden to remove one of my lower wisdom teeth. It was extremely close to the inferior alveolar nerve and my regular dentist didn't feel comfortable doing the procedure because I was at a much higher risk of suffering from nerve damage than the average patient. Instead he highly recommended Dr. Sowden. I'm glad he did. My only complaint is that it was hard to get an appointment. Dr. Sowden's schedule is heavily booked. But that's also a good sign -- the man is in high demand. It was well worth the wait. After doing a CT scan to better understand the risks (and aid the surgery if I opt for it), I decided to proceed with the surgery. I opted for general anesthesia, fell asleep within a couple of minutes, and woke up with the procedure all nicely wrapped up. Dr. Sowden and his assistants were very friendly and caring during all of my visits. Pre- and post-surgery instructions were very clearly explained and summarized on an instruction sheet. Post-surgery pain wasn't that bad -- I only need to use about half the recommended pain killers. Wound care was straight forward. Most importantly, everything healed perfectly and there were no complications. I also had an upper wisdom tooth removed at the same time, and it too was a difficult case. The tooth's root was in the nasal canal and the canal needed to be stitched. The stitching was done very well -- I couldn't feel any irritation. Breathing felt the same as before surgery (though for the first week you are advised not to do any strenuous activity). This is why I highly recommend Dr. Sowden for anyone else with similarly difficult wisdom teeth. It was a flawless experience.

Doctors in the past have had a difficult time getting IVs into Carmel, but the staff listened to her concerns and were able to adjust their methods to hook up her IV easily. Dr. Sowden and the Harbourside surgery centre are highly recommended.

I struggle with high dental anxiety as a patient and the assistants were very patient and explained steps thoroughly. Could not say better things about Dr. Sowden and his team. Would definitely recommend!
