Greg and Steve helped us find our first home. When it was time to move to a larger home we called them again. They helped us find the perfect rural home. I really appreciate their expertise and assistance with all of our Real Estate needs. They are friendly, professional and great to work with. Sellers be careful with blind bidding of presentations. We put an offer on a property listed by Hamre and on the day of presentation we had to extend our time for acceptance. They did not accept but countered with the same offer. We were called by our agent initially and asked if a later closing date works as they are elderly and the date may be too early to have them move so quick. By the time we heard back from Hamre, we did not have time to sign and accept if they would accept the new closing date. Our agent immediately sent us the firm offer to sign and gave them until the next morning but we did not hear back as the agent couldn't deliver the offer in time. The other offer that was accepted the next day was exact same price as ours (60K above asking) while ours as also with them. My agent told me that agents are not allowed to disclose details but it's hard for me to believe that the next day another offer that is also same amount above asking (60K). Hamre said the other offer had a better closing date but our agent said it was only 2 days apart difference. We are very frustrated with the transparency of the whole situation.

Bought and Sold with Steve Hamre 2020/2021. When he says he knows Ottawa you can believe it. We haven't bought a new house in 22 years and have never sold a house. Well with the help of Steve, we got everything we wanted and MORE when we purchased our new forever home and sold our previous home. He managed to get a few things included at no extra cost to us and made it look easy. When we were getting the old house ready to sell, he has ideas and contacts for EVERYTHING. Recommended workers and companies to get our house ready. When it came time to sell, the Hamre team was fantastic for the exposure had the tools set up for us to keep track of the bookings. Even though I was very nervous during the showing period, Steve kept me calm with his confidence and knowledge. He explained the process to us and put our minds at ease. Experience in dealing with clients, new or repeat, is very helpful during stressful times. He was always available to answer questions, day or night and took the time to come visit us (at a distance - Pandemic) to answer questions in person. Never pushy or unreasonable. He gave us tips and instructed us on what to do which made the whole experience go smoothly. I cannot recommend the Hamre Team enough. He even had to deal with one of my venting sessions after I had some trouble with a contractor, he was a PRO at calming me down and getting back on track. We spoke to a few different agents when we started home shopping and we were constantly questioning our decisions. All it took was one conversation with Steve Hamre, we were convinced he was the one that can help us move onto the next chapter of our lives.

When selling our home, Steve provided us with excellent help in preparing our home for the market (ie staging and repairs). When buying, Steve was extremely accommodating to our schedule and found us the ideal house before it came on the market.
