No they do not focus on your mental health nor your children's. They only care about your chores being done and your room being cleaned and making sure you have a departure plan. It's not healthy at all here. Their survey is biased to suit their agenda. It was better to be home with my abuser than to live here. No i won't live with that person but many have felt this way. If you challenge they cry out they are the best. If you are the best it's not something you need to say. Yes good people work here but have to follow the standards of the place. Real honest people were let go because they know deep down living there is difficult. Too many rules and not enough care for any woman, mother or child. This is no exaggeration i have just left there. It is absolutely ridiculous. We come from abuse. Do not further abuse us and say you are the best. Help mothers and children. What is CYC there for if they don't keep kids busy so moms can relax and find peace in such a chaotic place? They are hard on all the women. Care is last. Clean is first. Departure plan is priority. Find somewhere else to go.
A	Anon User on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t work here, I’d give it 0 stars if I could. This is the most stressful, toxic and chaotic work environment I’ve ever worked in. There were many times when I was single staffed especially during night shifts which is extremely unreasonable considering how busy it always is even at night. The executive director was extremely manipulative which I found ironic considering it’s a shelter for families leaving abusive relationships. The executive director will be friendly in front of others but as soon as you’re alone she’s extremely belittling and condescending. She took advantage of her authority and even treated the manager poorly. This environment is high crisis and extremely stressful enough, the last thing you need is for an executive director to treat everyone badly. It’s unfortunate because the front line workers were amazing to work with.
a	anon ymous on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO. NOT. WORK. HERE. Extremely toxic work environment with high turnover rate for all positions. Experienced varying levels of harassment and bullying while employed. Executive Director has a superiority complex due to her years of experience. Unfortunately her experience does not make up for the way she talks to/ treats her staff. I was warned about the work environment and management when first hired and was able to witness and personally experience it on numerous occasions. These negative experiences came directly from the Executive Director. The structure is set up so that you are unable to voice your concerns because the person everyone has a problem with (the ED) is the person you're supposed to go to for support. It is normal to see frontline staff crying and venting while on shift due to mistreatment and frustration. Again- TURNOVER RATE IS VERY HIGH. Recently had a group of frontline workers quit. Never in all of my years experience have I seen staff come and go so quickly. Staff are overworked, underpaid, and under appreciated.

You do not want to go and stay here!!! All they do is pass the buck rather than taking accountability for their negligence and abusive behaviors towards residents who are vulnerable women and children. They will put women and children to either go back to their abuser or face living on the street if you speak out or hold them accountable Rene ( Management) should be fired! She abuses her Authority

We see first-hand how dedicated Nancy and the rest of the team are to women staying at the shelter, and how tirelessly they work to secure the much-needed funds to keep their programs running year after year.

It’s one of the things I am most grateful for, and proud of, in my career. I am in awe of the dedication, professionalism and care the Executive Director takes in everything she does. It’s incredible to watch their team provide such important services to women and children - The organization is crucial in our community.
