Protip: order the "special fish". They will know. They do it quite well and the sauce is savory and delicious. Went to this restaurant with someone who was actually from Shanghai. She thinks it's okay but I enjoyed it. One item was 3*, one item was 4*, and two were 5*. The owner fully admitted that the xiao long bao had an issue. Too much meat. That was our 3* however she let us know the other table had fine ones. Some of this conversation I didn't follow as they spoke in their own dialect, nor did I pay for this meal as my friend grabbed it, so I was unsure of the prices since I didn't have a bill. The restaurant owner is very sweet. She's very friendly and talks to all the clients... as much as she can as there is or can be a bit of the language barrier at times. There's not much to the decor of this place either. But the tofu dish (order this if you like spicy, seems like you can adjust to your taste) and the fish dish was very delicious. We also got some wontons or something. They were good, in a soup of sesame oil and saltines (I'm guessing a chicken broth and maybe a bit of soy to add a little bit of complexity and color?) This is located near the Panda tea if you like bubble tea. They share the same parking lot. It's quite busy so sometimes you will still need to park on the street.

Has been our go-to Chinese restaurant in the South End for YEARS! The owner is absolutey awesome. She has watched my son grow up from age 5 to 12 and always gives him something special. Food is delicious, hot, and flavourful. Will continue going back over and over and over....

Had dinner with a group of friends (4 in total) for dinner and it's pretty good. We were greeted warmly and very hospitable. One of the owners (I'm assuming the mother) was so welcoming and was optimistic throughout our entire meal, basically made me feel lime I was at home. Even as going far as giving as a bowl of white rice. We ordered Mapo Tofu, Sweet and Sour Pork, Hawaiian Fried Rice, Soup Dumplings, and i believe the barbeque chicken. All the meals were tasteful and didn't lack any flavour. Good amount of portion for what you pay for. My key takeaway for each meal though is: - The mapo tofu wasn't as spicy as we thought (I'm not used to having very spicy) - Soup Dumplings, although it had good filling, I wish it had more soup and less meat filling. - Sweet and Sour pork still had some crunchiness even after covered with sauce throughout our dinner - i didn't have much of the chicken meal we had, but it wasn't overcooked, still had moisture compared to some places where the chicken was dry. Food and Service is on point, I personally would visit again.

Was in the south end of the city and wanted some Chinese food. Thought I would try a new restaurant. Well, unfortunately not very good food at this one. The guy I paid was nice. Should have known it would have been second rate when the nice guy told me how slow it’s been. During Covid I’ve found that most restaurants that feature takeout have been fairly brisk. You would think that during a time where your business is down that each customer matters! Not here, second rate food. How do you go wrong with fried rice!?! I swear some of the food was out of a frozen box. I could go on but why. All I can say is this, Tons of other restaurants around that serve way better food. Keep driving and look for any other restaurant.

The pineapple shrimp is amazing! Had that and the deep fried spicy salt calamari. Batter could of been fried longer to a more crispy texture), and beef and gai lan. DO NOT GET THE CALAMARI. Funky

Had a wonderful family dinner here last night, service was great and friendly, food prepared fresh. The aunty will chat with everyone it feels like being a guest at someones house. We tried a lot of their dishes and everything was delicious, the soup dumpling were good but would have been better if the skin was thinner (comparing it to Din Tai Fung which is the best xiao long bao I have tried) We also ordered from the special menu and it was both awesome, beef stew and rice wine fish. From the regular menu we ordered and enjoyed the crispy beef ginger, mapo tofu, shanghai special soup, pan fried noodles and the bbq chicken with sauce. This is a very good family run chinese restaurant with authentic flavours and unique dishes that are not your run of the mill westernised chinese food, highly recommended!

We ordered the soup dumplings, the "special fish", mapo tofu, and deep fried spare ribs. They were all super good, but I would highly recommend the soup dumplings and "special fish"! The restaurant has a very home like feel, and the server was super nice. The server said that if you're planning on having dumplings you should call ahead (like 20 mins) to them know so that you don't have to wait too long
