When there has been a government audit, like me having to prove I was not married to my son as he shares the same name as my x, they took care of what needed to happen and talked me through everything. Appreciates all they have done for me and my family

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was the worst experience I've ever had with Taxes. Other H&R blocks have been fine.. not this one!
They told me my cheque would be ready and to, "Come back tomorrow at 1" for 3 days. Then finally informed me that I couldn't get my cheque because they had to send it away and do direct deposit instead.
After I got them my DD form, they told me that was all I needed. I came back from Maui after 2 weeks only to find out that my money STILL wasn't deposited because they STILL haven't even filed my return.
DO NOT GO HERE!! You'll have better luck with a monkey and a Typewriter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Send my wife to get her taxes done there today. They would only do 2016 tax return. She recently received a disability deduction retroactive back to 2013. That is why I sent her there to get deduction applied to the 3 previous years. THEY said they were too busy and to come back in May or do it ourselves online. I thought taxes was your business. Apparently only the easy ones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A two week course does not make them tax specialists. Place is a joke and they don't have a clue what they are doing.
Update: found out today that my ex-husband was advised if I wouldn't give him my sin number for him to complete his return that he should call CRA and they will give it. This was an I'll advised comment from an H&R Rep which is encouraging to breach data protection. I will be reporting this to the Canada Revenue! Absolutely livid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have no complaints. They are friendly and helpful, and seem to know their job. You do have to pay of course, and if your tax return is simple, you're probably better off doing it yourself. One lady I worked with there was extremely sympathetic to my situation, and, for an accountant, an almost unbelievably nice person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am amazed at the negative reviews of this place, considering my friends and I have been using their services for years and years and have had nothing but positive experiences: fast, friendly service, professional office environment, reasonable price and so on. I have never seen or heard any of these terrible people that supposedly occupy the offices. Also, the great value of their work is really how they take away any/all stress and uncertainty about how to fill out forms and what to claim and so on, without my making massive mistakes. Thus, for millions of people like myself who are terrible at math and figuring out forms, H&R Block is a godsend; totally worth the price.
It is all about due diligence. I have always asked beforehand what they will do and how much it will cost. They have always told me, and I have always happily paid. They are a business and it is our job to do our homework, in case there may be better services somewhere else in terms of cost, efficiency, and so on. It is the greater value of their services one pays for, not just a cash price, thus H&R Block is great value in the greater scheme of things. I highly recommend them.
