★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My mother Sneh, began a beautiful vegetable and flower garden when she started working as a teacher at the school, Grandview Terrace Daycare Centre in the Grandview/¿uuqinak'uuh Community, back in the1980s. The reason she grew this garden was to feed the many children who did not have enough of a nutritional diet and sadly for some, who had no food at all. To this day she feeds her community, and grows the most beautiful flowers and vegetables and shares it with everyone. Nowadays, she is retired and teaching her granddaughter and our neighbours all that she knows about the land, how to nourish it, so it can nourish us. I love you Mom.
